I'm not in the Glenview area but something to do in that area is to visit the Kohl's Children Museum
2100 Patriot Boulevard

I know your son is 8 mths old but they have 3 separate cushioned play areas for babies under 18 mths old. The area have beads, books and are large enough for you to sit along side of your baby.

It a nice place to see other people-mommies and babies. You may possibly be able to meet other moms with children your sons age.

Actually, my daughter is 9 mths old and I also have a 3 year old boy. We have a membership to the museum and will again be visiting the location once the weather warms up.

Take care

Hi R.-

I have been having the same dilemna as there was nothing really to offer for children under 2 through the park district. I have heard of a place called the little gym, I has classed for all age ranges of children. I haven't had time to look into it, but I am planning on getting my son into those classes. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions.

Hi R.. I too am a stay-at-home mom of a two month old and I've been looking for things to keep us entertained. I just got something in the mail recently about Gymboree classes. They have different levels of classes depending on the age of the child. I actually have never been to one but I am looking into it. I think the website is www.playandmusic.com

There's one near Old Orchard. And I think they even give you a free class to try it out first.

Good luck.

R., I used to live and teach, early childhood, in Glenview. First off, Glenview has an amazing Park District. Check it out. 8 months may be to young but it is a great resource. Give them a call they will be happy to lead you in the right direction. Chicago Parent, a magazine/newspaper, has great advertisements for wonderful classes. It's free and can be found everywhere. More than several classes will be for the Glenview area. Although I personally have not gone to Gymboree, I heard good things about it for infants and older. When the peanut gets a little older, don't forget about Kohl's Children's Museum in The Glen. WONDERFUL!!! You have picked a beautiful town to live. This spring you will have to ride on the bike path to Botanic Gardens or take a drive up there. Evanston also has fantanstic programs-check out Chicago Parent. I know you will find more than you can attend. Happy New Year! B.
