First of all thank you so much to everyone to has prayed or shared anything on facebook and thoughts! It means so much to the family and friends like ourselves.
After 3 days of searching there is no new news to give sadly. They have found no clues leading them any closer than what we were on Friday when they found out they were missing.
I have had a few PM's ask about the girls.. I'm sorry if there was any confusion... yes there was two kids from Decorah Iowa ( where my location is) and those kids were found. They were at a friends house. Elizabeth and Lyric are from Evansdale Iowa, they have NOT been found.
If anyone is still willing to help to please get the word out about these girls that would be wonderful. Since there is no evidence of foul play or an abduction they will not put out an Amber Alert because it doesn't meet the criteria. But they are listed on the national Missing and Exploited Children's' list.
Here is some info... the girls bikes was found a ways from their house at Meyer's Lake in Evansdale. A short distance away they found Lyrics purse and cell phone thrown over a chain link fence. The found purse side of the chain link fence is on the interstate side of the fence.
While there is NO proof or clues to prove that someone took them across the fence and took them along the interstate it can't be ruled out until known otherwise. (this has not been said as a possibility by the police but by other citizens, police are still looking in areas around the city. I don't want to confuse anything that is factual vs speculation) But it is possible that someone has done that and these two girls could be anywhere if that did happen! That is why we are asking for everyone to please share where they can.

Thank you again to everyone, it has been an emotional weekend. It was so bitter sweet having to leave the search party after 3 days of looking... but the feeling of being able to hug and hold my own kids was indescribable.
I don't want to take up space for others questions on here, so I will not post any more updates until they are found. But please feel free to PM me anytime and I will give you any updates as I know them.
**Please don't report this. This is very real and honestly if it was one of your friends or your families children missing you would reach out to anyone who can help! We are honestly reaching out to every place we can to get the word out since not as many people all over the country will know that there is two little girls missing with out the Amber Alert even though they are on the Missing and Exploited list. With the PM I got... I'm sorry if this offends anyone.. but at this point I'm not thinking of how it's making anyone else feel except everyone directly involved. ( Sorry if that sounds mean!!)**

No Cheryl, they are not my girls... they are one of my husband's friend of 20 years 8yr old daughter and 10 yr old niece.
Marda, they explained to us that in order for the police to issue an amber alert there has to be proof of an abduction, there has to be a description of the kidnapper along with a description of the vehicle they were taken in. Since there is no proof of any abduction they can't issue one. Its really sad and heart breaking that so many more people could be reached if they would put one out.
Its a secret~ yes every link I posted has pictures of the girls.
As far as I know nobody has reported this... but I had a really nasty PM telling me I shouldn't shake up other families who are reading my posts and causing possible panic and unneeded over protection by parents because of two kids missing when it happens every day and nobody gives it a second look until it happens close to you. This isn't the place for this kind of stuff and leave it up to the police to do their job, there no way anyone on here can help. Its all just a cry for attention. How I just said it was a very nice way of putting a really nasty PM. After that message I just wanted to make sure everyone knew this was real and not some weekend troll. Although the "regulars" on here would recoginize my name and hopefully know better ;)

I'm a retired police officer and I find it incredible that they are not on an Amber alert. They are so young and their belongings are scattered.

PLEASE, though, don't feel like you are "taking up room". Keep updating! This is important. Sorry, but I would much rather see another "missing girls update" in the subject line than "my dog chewed his dang tail".
Our family will continue to pray for these girls. And please, please keep us updated. There is plenty of space on this website and the reason this site is here is to support all parents and the parents of these missing girls need as much support as they can get, even if it's just keeping the word out and these girls and the families in everyone's thoughts and prayers.

I can not imagine what the families are going through. My prayers are with the girls, their families, friends and everyone involved in the search.
Anyone who would PM you knowing all the anguish and concern you are feeling and imply that no one cares about this case is completely WRONG! I have been watching the case on the news since it was announced, for heavens sake. What if they were abducted and someone in Texas sees them and they are rescued? Without the media and people like you making every effort to get the word out, they would go unnoticed.

I have been keeping up with all of the news. What an outpouring of support.. But I was really upset this afternoon when I read they were stopping the search for the night again..

I'm in central Iowa and am constantly checking the news to hear any updates on these girls! I have 2 daughters and nieces and I can't imagine what this family is going through! I pray these girls will be found safe!
