Military Rank

I have custody of my granddaughter and her father refuses to tell me what his military rank is. Child support is not the issue. He does pay child support however I'm sure it is less than he legally should, but it is okay. I don't know why he is hiding his rank but I would like to know what his rank is. I think we have a bit of a personality conflict. I do not like dealing with him.I took my grandaughter to the dentist and was asked his rank for insurance purposes and was embarassed when I had to tell them I didn't know. Is there a way I can find out his rank other than through him?

What can I do next?

It should be on her dependent ID card. and legally yes you should have his "Name Rank SSN" if you have legal custody of your grandaughter. Becasue if God forbid something happens to him or you to where you have to get in contact with him right away you need that info to get intouch with him or his commanding officer.

Yes, someone with access to AKO can find it. And your dependent ID card should have a "sponsor rank / pay grade" spot on it with something like "SGT / E5" written in it.

If he has been promoted, you should be required to get a new ID card as well.

Yes, there is. I sent you a private message. All you need is to know someone in the military with access to the AKO website. They can look him up via the white pages.

It sounds to me like he was promoted and does not want you modifying the child support to reflect his newly increased income. What a dirtbag.

You can try contacting his comanding officer (CO). Let him know that you have custody of his child, and you need to know his rank for insurance purposes; but he won't tell you.

You need to get in touch with his commanding officer. He is not allowed to do this. The military will make him hand over the info, literally. The child support should come directly from his pay check, and should change when his rank changes, automatically.
If you ever see him in uniform... it's not hard to tell what rank he is.
Take him back to court if you have to, they will mop the floor with him. The military will not allow him to act like this, believe it or not they do have codes and standards of conduct. Get the military involved. There are many places and organizations that can help you do this.
His behavior may even lead to a loss in rank.

I am not sure how to get it but he must have a commander in chief. I know years ago I had not heard from a boyfriend and wrote someone and it came back I needed his social security number to get any information. My ex was a LTC and I have no contact with him in the last 10 yrs but if he is high rank then he should be able to pay support accordingly. Maybe the court or attorney can help you. I am raising my granddaughter but she is an American Indian so they support her. Thank God it is a big responsibility when I moved into my home thought it would be just me since I created a Home Day Care and there are many of us since I am raising children my new life is full of fun and joy and challenges as she is almost 13 and I fear those years of the teen. She gets ugly at times but is a good kid. Hopefully will honor God and become who she wants to be. Take Care God Bless
Do you have Champus? Maybe they can tell you. G. W

If you know his base, call the chaplain or his Co. He doesn't need to be paying less than he should. He owes the child a living. You don't say where your daughter is.
