It seems whenever my husband "helps" me something ends up melted. I was doing my christmass cookies this last weekend. After baking most the day my husband offered to clean up the kitchen for me. That was lovely, so I left him to it. I discovered yesterday that he put the leftover chocolate chips in the cupord right next to the oven and that the had melted and leaked out making the most amazing mess. I thought if I turned my oven on it would melt agin and I could maybe wipe it up, but that didnt work. SO and thought on how I and get this yummy mess cleaned up other than putting my face in it a licking it up heheh.
Thanks!!

What can I do next?

Maybe "ice it" and then chip it off with a putty/spackle knife? then when you're down to jsut a little bit left go with the hair dryer approach - while a paper towel is laid over the chocolate.

YIKES!!!

Sometimes I wonder if husbands do this stuff subconsciously on purpose so we don't ever ask them to help again?

If it's cooled and hardened, you should be able to pry it up with a knife. Or maybe break it into pieces by "hammering" it with the butt end of a knife. After you take the pieces out, you should be able to clean the rest with a regular cleaner.

Have you tried goo gone? I love that stuff-always keep some on hand.

If goo gone or prying it off don't work, try heating it up again with a hair dryer.

Do you have a pastry scraper? That might help you get most of it off.
