Cloth Diapers Vs. Disposable?

I was wondering what you ladies thought of cloth diapers vs. disposables? I used Pampers with my first child and spent a fortune, especially the first several months. Have any of you had experience with both and would recommend one over the other? I'm not real excited about washing poop in my washer machine, are diaper services worth it? Do they hold as much as disposable? What about "gdiapers"?

How to handle tiny brown worms in a toddler's diaper?

OK this is a wierd request but Im wondering if anyone has had experience with this. A week ago, I noticed a small (1/4 inch) brown worm on one of my daughter's diapers. It was a used diaper that was lying on the carpeted floor in my bdroom (it missed the garbage pail in the middle of the night). Since it was on the floor I thought the worm could have come from anywhere so I didnt think much of it. So today when I was changing her clothes & took off her onesie, I saw one on her head. I think it fell out of the onesie. I've done some...

What Products to Use for an Infant Who Has a Rash

Hi I was wondering what products many of you recommend for an infant (2 month old) who has a very bad sandpaper like rash all over her body. Her back is actually peeling today since her skin has been so dry. I did take her to her Pediatrician who ruled out any illness. He stated it may be sensitive skin or she may be having a reaction to a food that I am eating as she also has very bad reflux along with it. I use dreft detergent on all clothes/linens that come into contact with her. I use Eucerin on her skin which does seem to help a...

Seventh Generation Diapers and Other Brands

I have a new baby and he has incredibly sensitive skin. I've always used Pampers with my daughter and never had any problems but he seems to need something a little "greener." I tried the Target natural diapers, nature care i think and they were ok and want to try Seventh Generation but wanted to get some opinions on them and also on their wipes. Or any other wipes you recommend. I just heard that regular baby wipes have antifreeze in them and am really uncomfortable with using the Huggies wipes I've always bought. Although they work...

Good Night Time Diaper NEEDED

HELP! We have leaks almost every night! At first we thought Seventh Generation diapers were less absorbant so we used Pampers at night, and changed him at least 1x per night. Those are leaking too! We have tried the Huggies Overnites and the next size up with no luck. We are going to give cloth a shot. Also- does anyone have experience with TenderCare diapers? Or Nature Babycare?

Natural Remedies for Red, Itchy Rash

My 21 month old boy has this large red rash on his bum/lower back. It started out small and didn't bother him and it was getting better but just this morning I got him out of bed and it is much worse and he is itching it now. The red areas are slightly raised and some areas are peeling. We are letting him run around with out his diaper as much as possible and we use Seventh Generation diapers so I know it isn't a sensitivity to his diaper. So, far we have just been using Earth's Best diaper rash onitment. I am wondering if any one has...

Chronic Hives in Two Year Old

My son turned two in July and has had hives almost every single day for the past month, maybe a bit longer. He had hives for the first time in May, due to a viral infection and since then end of July / beginning of August, he has had hives almost every single day. They typically appear after he has been up for a few minutes in the morning or right out of bed. They tend to disappear during the mid-morning and reappear in the early evening. Sometimes they last all day, but fade to a very pale pink. They never seem to itch, and they have the...

Seeking Safe Cleaning/disinfectant Products

Hey ladies- I desperately need some disinfecting products that are kid friendly. I work at a childrens retail store and also have a 1 yr and a 2 yr old. My kids are at a private sitter so they aren't getting sick from other kids not to mention that I am also getting sick so I really feel like I'm the one bringing it home. Right now I am fighting a sinus infection and bronchitis on top of being 12 weeks pregnant. I'm ready for myself and my family to be well and health. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

Natural Help for Asthma and Allergies

Hi. My son was diagnosed with allegies and allergy induced asthma when he was 7 years old. We left the allergist's office with 6 different prescriptions. He is allergic to dust, mold, soy and egg yolk. I do not feel comfortable giving him pills, inhalers and nasal sprays on a daily basis. In general, he can rarely breathe clearly through his nose. Whe he gets an illness, it immediately goes into his lungs. I have been trying to research natural remedies that would help him, but have found none that work yet, or that he would do...
