Low Calorie Snacks

I am in my third trimester and I want to eat all the time, but I am really trying to keep my weight gain under control. Evenings are the worst, I just want to snack from dinner time until bed, even though I've had plenty of calories all day and I'm not really hungry. Does anyone have some suggestions for tasty, nutritious, low calorie snacks? Or even better, ways to keep me from eating when I'm not hungry! I don't eat any artificial sweeteners and I'm vegetarian, but otherwise I'm not terribly picky. Thanks!

What can I do next?

How about Hummus (Sam's sells individual packs that are great)? They also carry yummy multi-grain crackers for dipping, or you could use carrots and celery.

Other ideas:

Pre-cut fresh fruit
Pop Chips (they are air popped instead of baked or fried)
Jello
Nuts
Dark Chocolate

Popcorn
Frozen yogurt
Greek yogurt (I like the honey flavored)
Andes Mints (love those and just a couple is usually enough)
Mango, Pears Kiwi or other fruit
Chocolate covered raisins
Pistachios

Those are a few of my favorite some-what healthy (or NOT terribly bad for you) snacks!

Nibble a few dates or prunes or a few dried apricots and drink plenty of water.

Congratulations on being almost through your pregnancy!

I ate bowls of frozen blueberries while pregnant and watching movies in the evenings. Popcorn was another favorite, as was yogurt (with a few chocolate chips and almonds on it - yum!), but nothing beat a big bowl of frozen blueberries...gotta love pregnancy for odd cravings, eh?

Are you eating enough fiber? Is there somewhere you can increase it throughout the day? Hummus with veggies is one of my favorite snacks, nuts or edamame for protein or something a little salty. Glass of milk and half peanut butter sandwich on whole wheat bread??

I find that if I open the fridge and see whole carrots and celery stalks, I'll usually close the fridge and go for the teddy grahams. But if I open the fridge and see cut-up celery and carrots, I'll usually grab those instead. And the yummy spicy yogurt dip, too. I also like frozen grapes - and the frozen blueberries Eliza suggested sounds great - I'll have to try those!

My suggestion is baby carrots and celery. You can dip them in ranch, peanut butter, hummus or whatever sounds good to you. I also munched on frozen grapes for snacks when I was just 'munchy' and not hungry.

Congrats on your baby :)

Chew gum and do not even take anything that has artificial sweetener in it, not even gum.

I think so much is going to come out about these over a period of time. Like the others, all things man made have side effects and artificial sweeteners have had a lot of them come out after being on the market for years.
