Low Beta Hcg and Nothing on Ultra Sound at 5 1/2 Weeks Since LMP

Playing a waiting game and worrying about whether I'm having a second ectopic pregancy...
I thought I started a normal period June 3nd (right on time) but 9 or 10 days later started feeling crampy, tender breasts, lower back ache... I decided to do a home test to rule out pregnancy and to my surprise it came up positive. No intercourse between the 3rd and the + test, so it seems the June period wasn't a true period, which puts my LMP at May 8th.
Since I had an ectopic 4 years ago, I am at higher risk, so I went to the doctor June 15th, who sent me for an transvaginal ultrasound. Nothing seen in utero, but there something near my ovary...possibly a normal cyst, possibly not...I had my beta hcg tested and it was 319 which I was told was low. I've been feeling mostly fine (no sharp pain, no spotting)...but the past two days have a slight (2 out of 10 on the pain scale) soreness on my left side, and some pulling in my lower back, and now some very light color to my CM. I'm scared...waiting to test my beta hcg again Monday morning and see what is what.
The doctor says he wouldn't expect to see anything in an ultrasound until my levels are at 2000 or higher... Is there any hope I will get there and have a healthy baby?

What can I do next?

A beta of 319 is great numbers. Anything over 25 will give you a postive on a home pregnancy test. I have no experince with ectopic but I do know that it is hard to see much until your at least 6 weeks. A half of week can make a big difference.
I wish you the best

hmm, I asked my doctor about the cyst they found on the ultrasound at 6 weeks and he said that you will always see a cyst on the side of the ovary that you ovulated on. I don't know what they would see on an ultrasound until around 6 weeks since I didn't have my blood work or ultrasound done until 6 weeks. Maybe have it done again when you are over 6 weeks when the heartbeat can be seen? I'll be thinking of you.

Keep hope. I had a cyst with both pregnancies that made me a little uncomfortable at times. My doctor said it was a very good thing since the cyst makes extra progesterone which helps support the pregnancy.

Having an ultrasound at 5 & 1/2 weeks lmp is tough. You can't see anything, so it makes you think there's nothing to see. Something is happening. Your body is desperately trying to make a baby. Keep thinking positively and visualizing a healthy baby holding on tight and I will send positive thoughts your way.
