Does anyone know of any resources that I can go to for financial assistance with our lot rent & or mortgage payment. We have fallen behind. Our son who has severe quadriplegic cerebral palsy, is non mobile & non verbal & has seizure disorder & is cortically blind had to have a surgery last month & my husband had to take off work several days, unpaid, because he has not yet been with the company for one year & has no vacation benefits yet. Then we had to get a couple of parts for our car which compounded the problem. I know that times are tough for many but I am looking for any programs that might be able to help. I have called all the numbers I have been given through 2-1-1 & no one has funding right now. I don't know what to do, we have no family that can help & three small children. We are typically able to pay our monthly bills but this has caused us to fall behind. If anyone knows of any program that can help us please let me know. I am in keller/fort worth txThank you

So What Happened?

thanks for your help even though i couldnt find any funding for assistance with our rent/mortg I was able to work out a payment plan & hubby is working 60hrs a week to get it caught up, & i was able to get help with our electric bill to free up some money to go towards the late payments...like i said we are typically able to make our payments we just had a minor setback due to hubby taking off for our sons surgery, car issues, & a lack of overtime last month but we are almost back on track! : )

I have heard of this but I'm not quite sure how it works. It looks like you could possibly qualify just from looking at the overview. The deadline is coming up quick so you would need to act fast. Good luck! So sorry you are having a rough time.

A lot of places wont help without you being unemployed. Could one of yall maybe do some side jobs such as babysitting, mowing for people, maybe even looking on craigslist to see if there is anything anyone needs help with. Maybe even have random stuff around the house you could sell on craigslist? I know it isnt an easy task, and dont know how much you need but just some ideas. I am sorry yall have fallen on hard times, good luck!

Try Mission Arlington/Metroplex. I would think they could help. We volunteer there, and I know that's part of what they do. I don't know about current funding, but I've never heard of them not helping. I hope it's all taken care of soon.
