I know for a lot of people it is hard to lose baby weight, but I have the opposite problem. I can't stop losing weight. My son is 10 months old and I weigh less than I did before I got pregnant, probably even less than before college. I'm not at a healthy weight, but I don't know why I keep losi g weight. I am not posting this to rub it in to those who can't lose the weight because I honesy think this is just as bad. My body doesn't look good. I feel like I look anorexic and my clothes are all getting too big! Could this be some medical issue. Is there anyone else going through this? Please Help!

Hello JB:

This definitely sounds like your thyroid has gone haywire. Call the doctor to see if they can give you some medicine to slow it down and help you keep on some of the weight.

I would definitely call your Dr. Even if there isn't anything wrong, it will give you peace of mind.

Just a thought....my mom dropped 30 lbs in about 2 mos and wouldn't call doctor I finally got involved and we found out she was diabetic. She however felt God had finally given her a gift, eat all you want & lose weight!! Ha not so much. Either way you need to call doctor as others have also suggested other problems that might have creeped up on you. Good luck take care of you

I would call your doctor and get some blood tests done. Pregnancy can affect your thyroid. I knew a woman that had this happen after having twins. She made alterations to the types of foods she ate and took medication for a short time while being monitored by her doctor. It happened again after she had a third child a few years later.

I was the same way with my 1st pregnancy. If I were you, I would have your thyroid checked. It could have something to do with that, that's what it was in my case anyway. You should definetly go to the doctor and have some tests done. Good luck, hope everything turns out well.

One of my girlfriends lost a TON of weight after her 2nd pregnancy and she finally went to get her self checked and she was diagnosed with Hyperthyroid. She had other symptoms, insomia, anxity, panic attacks.. She will be taking medication now so we will see what happens. I also say go to endocronologist to get your thyroid checked out-A. ;-)

I nursed both of my children for the 1st year, and my baby weight melted off within the first 3 months. People commented that I looked sick, but it was a combo of nursing, fatique, and just trying to do everything at once. I eventually got back to my normal weight, and now am trying to lose the extra 5 that I packed on after my vacation. I do notice that my hips keep spreading too. I thought that only happened when you were prego. Oh well -- women's bodies are so complex.
