Looking for Recommendations on Where to Donate My Maternity Clothes

Since there are so many great moms on here I thought someone might know of an organization that assists struggling moms. I have a huge bin of maternity clothes that I would love to donate to a great cause. We don't belong to a church and I am unfamiliar with other organizations that assist in providing needy moms with a little help.

Thanks so much.
J.

Crisis pregnancy centers are usually in need of maternity clothing and children's items. I found the link to some of them above.

Some of the closer ones are Elgin, Palatine, Aurora and Wheaton. And there are many others.

Hi J.,
I'm not familiar with any organizations of this type, but I always give stuff away on freecycle.
If you're interested sign up for freecycle, freesources and dupagecountyparent swap. It's a recycling site where people give stuff away, and you can get rid of stuff. You can get a lot of good stuff for free. I've received some winter boots for my kids, halloween costumes for 2 years for both of them, christmas tree, toys, sleeping bag, etc. I've seen people give away a car, computers, furniture and a lot more stuff.
Go to http://groups.yahoo.com/, then search for freecycle, freesources groups in towns in your area. Just type in your town, sign up and have fun. It's an awesome site! You get a lot for free and by recycling you help save the environment!

I am a director of the Angel Haven Foundation. We support 170 families in the appalachian mountains. They are very poor. We accept everything and anything all year round. We would love to pick up your maternity clothes.

We are tax deductible and are listed with the state. Thank you for considering our needs.

Call your village office and tell them what you have and they can lead you in the right direction. Most townships collect for their own town and surrounding towns. Good for you.
