We am looking for a new pediatrician in the Mid-Cities/Grapevine/Irving area. We would like to find a doc who has a good bedside manner, is willing to answer questions and take time during appts, doesn't minimize your concerns, gentle and kid friendly. Our current doc is so rough, blunt, sarcastic, hurried; not what I want in a pediatrician.

We use Dr. James Wheeler. He's in Bedford across from Harris HEB. We really like him. He has one nurse practitioner that I won't see but I've been very happy with everyone else in his office. I'd be happy to answer any specific questions that you might have.

I would highly recommend Dr. Wheeler with Cook Children's in Euless. Their office is right across the street from Harris Methodist HEB. He actually has a child the same age as my 4 yr old(Gavin) as he and his wife attended the same childbirth class as me and my husband. I switched to his practice when my 4yr old was about 9months and have been with him ever since. He is very friendly and kid-oriented. He always takes the time answer all my questions and takes my concerns seriously. My second son Kaemon (now 1.5) was born with premature and with an abdominal wall defect so has required a bit more attention than a normal child and he has taken care of him since he came home from the hospital. He and his staff has been more than helpful in meeting our needs and I almost never have a problem setting convenient appointment times or waiting very long in the waiting room.

Hi L.,
I too have a 6 month old boy and we go to Dr. Scott at Grapevine Baylor. His advice has been right on and his staff extremely helpful.

Dr. A. Eric Benzick at Southlake Family Medicine. Both he and his head nurse, Judy, are more than you could ever ask for in a pediatrician office. They both take the time to listen and answer/discuss questions and concerns as well as offer suggestions and alternatives rather than just prescribe medicaiton. i wish I could find a PCP for myself who cares for patients like they do.

I used to live in Irving and we absolutely LOOOOOOOOOOVED Dr. Joan Kay (she's at MacArthur and Hwy 184). She is just fantastic and my son actually looked FORWARD to going ot the doctor to see her! She saw him from 1 year of age to 4 when we moved to Keller.

My regular doctor specializes in pediatrics, and she is who I will use for my baby- Dr. Megan Connolly, she is affiliated with the Las Colinas Medical Center- her office is in the professional wing of the hospital. She is great- she's so nice, friendly, and never rushes me. She explains things, and can always get me in pretty quickly. I have never had to wait long in the waiting room. I would reccomend her- good luck!
