Hello to all!

I am looking for an OB GYN in the North Richland Hills, Hurst, Bedford area. Can you also recomend a hospital around that area? I am pregnant and my OB GYN is at the Medical City. She is great but she is way too far. I need to be close to this area. I would have my daugther staying at home with my hubby or my mom.

Thanks for any help and recommendation !! =)

I was in the same position as you I have a doctor Iloved at Medical City. I moved to Keller and no longer could drive to Dallas. I am using Dr. Mickey Hooper in Keller. She is great and delivers at Harris Methodist downtown. She has been great and has very little wait time for appointments.

I just had my first baby at North Hills Hospital, it is over off Glenview Dr. I had a wonderful experience. My doctor is Dr Safely, he is a male but he is wonderful and is in the office building in the same parking lot of the hospital. I really like him because he will take time to answer ALL your questions. The only drawback is that I have had to wait an hour before to see him. But that is a small sacrfice to make for someone who will take time for you. If you are interested his number is ###-###-####. His staff is wonderful as well.

Good Luck

I use Dr. Mark Reimer. He delivers out of Harris HEB. He will be delivering my second child in the next two weeks. I love him and the hospital is great, too. He was recommended to me by a friend and I've recommended him to other friends who also love him. Just in case you need it, he specializes in high risk pregnancies. He has also been previously recommended on Mamasource under Wellnes Center for Women.

As an OB nurse in this area for awhile I know many of the Dr's that have been referred to you. Dr's White, Allen, Reimer are all excellent. They are also all male. If you would like a female you have recieved several as well but let me add Dr Alcalen to the mix. She is a wonderful and caring OB-GYN and has 2 small children of her own. She delivers at North Hills Hospital and we have discovered they actually have great Lactation Support for during your stay as well as a 30 day follow up for lactation for after delivery. (did I mention that is free??? Who knew??)
I hope this offers you just another choice. By the way Dr Allen also delivers at North Hills Hospital

When I moved here five years ago found myself pregnant in a year and no clue who to go to. I lived in Mid-cities, but found it worth my while to drive into Fort Worth for my prenatal care and to deliver at Harris Downtown. Just can't beat the peace of mind it gave me as a first time mom to be at a hospital right next door to a children's hospital. Needless to say, I am expecting my second and now live in Haltom City and would choose nowhere else but Harris.
As far as OB/GYN - I use a midwife group - EXCELLENT!!! (also in Fort Worth) But I know that isn't for everyone. Douglas Decker, who has an office off of 26 and Rufe Snow, is someone I had to visit at a very rough time during a pregnancy and he and his staff were patient, answered my questions thoroughly and even addressed my husband's concerns in a way that made sense to him and gave him guidance on how to support me through our ordeal. A real family approach.
This is such a loaded decision - best of luck and Congratulations!!

Carla Tabbs in the medical office building at North Hills is wonderful. She delivered my baby on Oct 4th and she is also a new mother herself. Her phone number is ###-###-####. She delivers at North Hills Hospital in N Richland Hills. I don't know if this matters or not, but Medical City and North Hills are sister hospitals.

I highly recommend Dr. Michael White. He not only delivered my son two years ago, but he has delivered 5 other friend's babies in the last 4 years. He has great bedside manner and is extremely knowledgable. His staff is top-notch as well. I found myself in an emergency sitiuation during delivery and I am convinced that Dr. White knew exactly what to do so that my son was delivered with no injuries. I am blessed to have had Dr. White as my Dr. Below is the website to his practice. He delivers at Baylor Grapevine. I had a great experience there as well.

Dr Martin Read with Texas Healthcare is absolutly awesome. He is located off rufe snow and hwy 26. All deliveries are at Downtown Harris Hospital--which is the best for neonatal care.
Dr Read and his nurses are very sweet and attentive. Goodluck with finding the right obgyn for you.

Hi C.,

I use Dr. Carson at The Woman's Group in Bedford. It's located at 1615 Hospital Parkway, suite 204 Bedford, TX 76022 ###-###-####. She is right across the street from H.E.B. Hospital, and is not only a great doctor but a wonderful person. I was nervous during my pregnancy, and she was very patient with me. She answered all my questions, which I had MANY, and made me feel very comfortable. I also had an enjoyable experience at H.E.B. Hospital. Everyone was very kind, and very helpful. I highly recommend Dr. Carson and H.E.B. Hospital. I hope this helps in making your decision.

Take care, & good luck

I used the most awesome OB for my last pregnacy. And it was my perfict twin boys! Venessa Armstrong. She has an office in Haltom City, off of Hwy26 and Grapvine Hwy. And another one downtown. I could spend all day giving her a good referal, but I just sum it up by saying that her whole office made me so comfortable, I thuroally enjoyd going to eatch visit. After I started my job I found two other couples that use her office as well. In fact Dr. Kutsler (another Dr. in that office) is also wounderful. She ended up doing my emergency C-section while Dr. Armstrong was on vacation. I'll look to find the number for you, just let me know if you can't find her. Good luck and congratulations!!!! Looks like your well blessed and loved!!! T. F.

Love mine. She's an Asst Prof at UNTHSC. Lynn Speaks ###-###-####. I drive quite aways and am delivering at Harris downtown (which I didn't want) because I like her so much. She also delivers at JPS if you need that for financial reasons. She's very patient and lets you be the co-pilot instead of dictating. I trust her. Tell her I sent you! Good luck!
