There are also a few groups on Yahoo. Look for Loudoun Mommies Graduates on Yahoo Groups for one that was recently created for moms in Loudoun with babies 4 months and up. I believe they will meet mostly on Saturdays to accommodate mothers who have gone back to work.

There is also a group that meets at Loudoun Hospital on Thursdays. The group is for moms with babies 4-8 months old. My baby is nearly 3 months so we're not there yet, but I attend the group for babies 0-4 months. It is not so much a playgroup but almost more of a support group. It is facilitated by a nurse and the mothers discuss milestones and concerns and get feedback and advice. I don't know what time the Thursday group meets, but I believe you should be able to find more info on their website.

Try the mom's club of Ashburn. You will find them if you do a internet search. I have a friend who joined them.

Hi, Kim.

I hold bi-weekly story times in by Broadlands home. It's never too early to expose your child to lilting words and beautiful music! And there's a range of kids who come, so you're bound to find someone who's in your shoes.

Check out the link on my website for details: www.MomOnTheSide.com

HI Kim,
Check out the Loudoun County Parks and Rec Dept. They have lots of activities starting at a very young age. There are several community centers that you could go to and the activites are coordinated by Parks and Rec.

It is a great place to meet other families and as your child gets older, she will learn from the activities, too! Good luck--A.

Hi Kim,

There are several!

I'm a member of several Meetup groups, and an assistant organizer of the Leesburg/Ashburn Stay-At-Home Moms Group, (http://sahm.meetup.com/1420/ ). There are about 150 members, with children ranging in age from newborn to preschooler and up, so there are all kinds of activities on the calendar: library playgroups, playground playdates, in-home playdates, field trips, Mom's night out, bookclub, etc. We also have a very active message board. The organizer of my group always lets people try it our for a month to see if the group will work for them, and if you decide to join, our dues are only $5 for the year....cheaper than a lot of other groups. The fee goes to the cost of the Meetup site and to holiday and seasonal parties and supplies.

Additionally, there's the Mom's Club with chapters in Ashburn Farm and I think two in Ashburn Village (http://www.momsclub.org/welcome.html ) of which I'm not a member but about which I have heard lots of good things.

Email if you have any questions!

Good luck!

Hi Kim

Go to meetup.com and type in playgroup in the search area. A bunch will come up and you can choose what kind you want. I am part of a group called mom's the word and we do lots on the ashburn/sterling area. It has about 20 moms with kids aged newborn to 6 or 7 years. Let me know if you have nay questions.
