Hi Ladies,
I am in need of replacing my pots and pans. I am looking for advice on purchasing new ones. I would like something that would last long and I would also like something easy to clean but safe. I have heard how tephlon and other materials aren't very safe and there are so many different types out there. I don't want anything "cheap" but not over the top expensive either. Thanks!
I have had All Clad pots and pans for 10 years now. They are costly but they are extremely durable and a lifetime investment. I'm sure they will outlive me. I have had to send back one pan back to the company. They stood by their guarantee no questions asked and replaced my pan.
We love love love our all clad stainless.
When we got married in 2000, my husband had copper bottom revereware, and I had the kind with the disc on the bottom. We decided to go for all clad and love it. The non stick still has not peeled, and we use them several times a week. They really retain their heat, so you can turn down the heat once you've gotten the pan hot enough.
I have 2 pieces of le crueset - one round 3.5 quart and one oval 6 quart (for doing chickens, etc).
Our stuff gets used and we would recommend it to anyone.
I agree with the All Clad suggestion. Yes, it is pricier than most but it will last so much longer and cook so much better than cheaply made products. Although All Clad should be washed by hand, it is easily cleaned with Bar Keeper's Friend.
You may also wish to investigate the products that Le Creuset has. Again, they're expensive but fantastic. I've had mine going on 8 years now and they still look and cook like new!

We have some all-clad pans and a similar set that we purchased from Costco several years ago. I am not sure which are which when I use them but they are quite sturdy and the Costco was significantly cheaper than all-clad.
I love my stainless steal Calphalon cookware. Not as good as Allclad, but it is more affordable and not cheap. I have had my set for eight years and haven't had one problem with it. Before that I used my grandmothers copper bottom Revereware. It must be 40 years old and I still cook with it.

I went away from Teflon and too did not want to spend alot on a good set of stainless steel. I found a pretty decent set at Costco (Kirkland brand). I don't remember the exact price but I know it was a good deal...and if you don't like them Costco has a great return policy. I've had mine now for about 1-2yrs.
