Check either the YMCA or Lewisville Rec centers. I would think they would be cheaper than somewhere like Aqua kids and Excite.

HI M., we have done Aqua Kids, the Natatorium and the YMCA. As a mom I found it easier to do it at the outdoor pool at the YMCA. I think they have really cheap rates where you can join just for the summer. Aqua kids is on the high end. The Natatorium is so steamy inside but the kids learned well there. I think the Y was my favorite. Good luck.

Lone Star Swim School in Coppell is great. Very personal lessons and great with the kids. I do think they have to be 2 to start though. It's $50 for 2 weeks.

Hi M.,

Lone Star doesn't start lessons until the kids are 2. At your daughter's age most likely any lessons you will find will be 'mommy and me' type classes. When my first son was that age, we did a mom and tot class at the Copppell YMCA.

Good luck!

The lewisville rec center does lessons pretty inexpensively, but for that age, the lessons are parent and tot together in the water- mostly it is just getting the kids familiar with the water with songs and games. The Y is the same, but they tend to cost a little more.

We took at the Lewisville YMCA last summer & they seemed pretty reasonable. I know they use a sliding scale for payments based on income. You might check into it.

Lonestar swim is great -- plus, Mom does not have suit up either....Its $60 for two weeks of lessons M-Th if I recall correctly. My son used them last year and will likely use them again this year too. Their schedule is not yet posted on their website but you can google them and find them pretty easily. Oh, they are in Coppell too.
