Hi all! I know my son, who is 22 months old, would benefit from a social setting a day a week. Right now I am home on maternity leave but I will be going back to work the week of Thanksgiving. I will have in home daycare for my 2 kids and in order to keep my son socialized, I am looking for places that he can benefit from. He obviously isn't old enough for preschool, but I am at a loss. Any ideas anyone. ALSO, does anyone know when the clenched hands to face (moro reflex) preventing sleep in a 2 month old ends?? My 2 month old daughter still needs to be swaddled because if I don't she bashes herself in the skull and startles herself awake all the time. I am worried that she may become dependant on having to be bundled up all the time. Any suggestions there?? Thanks a lot!!

L.

Hi L.,
I also have a 22 month old boy and a 2 month old daughter. I take my son to Gymboree, he loves it. I bring my daughter with me to class, she just hangs out in the car seat, and if you need to tend to her, it is not a big deal there.

Hi L.,

I live in Macomb Twp I have a 5 1/2 month old son. Once a week we go the the Clinton-Macomb Public Library on Romeo Plank Road. Their web site is www.cmpl.org They have what they call Lapsit program. Its really storytime where they read a book or two and then we sing some songs. I hope this helps.

I just signed my 18month old son up for Soccor Tots at Total Soccer in Fraser. I haven't experienced it yet.. but it works with my schedule... I work full time an only have the opportunity to take him on the weekends. The classes are on Saturdays @ 9:00am. They start this weekend, but you can join at any time.. they do prorated rates. They are classes that are separted from toddlers to young children.. the class my son is in goes from 18m to 32mths They focus on small motor skills that will help them catch and kick and of course socialize with other children. Should be fun.

Hi L.. I work at Gymboree, but before I even worked there, I took both of my children. It would be a great environment for your son. We even have evenings classes running, so you could take him yourself if you wanted to, even though you work during the day. Our program isn't just about socialization, it's also about educational learining. If you are interested, let me know and I will send you more info. Thanks and have a great day!

Hi L.,

I had to swaddle my first son till he was 3 months. I know you are not supposed to but my 2nd son now sleeps on his tummy due to alot of other reasons, but it does keep his arms from waking himself up.
