Hello, I have a three year old son that I want to put in preschool in the fall this year. I have heard a few horrible things about a few preschools here and I am worried about finding a really great place that my son will enjoy. Also if you can recommend any sports that will take a 3 1/2 year old that would be great as well!! Thank you!!!!

What can I do next?

I would like to recommend the school that my son his 2 cousins go to. It is a private school however, but I love it. It is Calavary Christian Academy over all coal. If he will be 4 by the fall I believe he would be able to enroll. The teachers are awesome and the pay attention to the child's learning needs. I.E if they are board they will speak with you in advancing your child or work with your child to make sure they are learning at thier pase.
Also there is a day care called La Petite Academy and they have a teaching program for 3-4 years. They follow a teaching ciriculm that helps them become prepared for kindergarden. My son was in thier before entering Calavary and now my daughter is attending there as well.
Just a thought don't know if it sounds interesting or not to but food for thought I guess.

My 3 year old goes to early learning preschool on Southern. We love it. He goes T/TH from 915 to 1145. They have a more options than that especially for the 4 year old class. They don't focus on academics at all so if you want your son to learn to write his abc's and such you should look at other schools. They focus on following rules, directions, taking turns, sharing, mainly social skills. It is a secular preschool. We pay 105/month and have to help in the classroom for about 4 classes a year. They are having enrollment on april 5th. As with most preschools they fill up fast (especially morning classes)! Their phone number is ###-###-#### (Their website will be back up on the 10th. I think it is www.earlylearningpreschool.info)

I have a friend who has her kids at Tender Heart and she is thrilled with it! Personally I would stay away from the city program (Kidzone), I had my oldest son in it for about two weeks and pulled him.

As far as sports, not sure. I have had all of my kids in some of the parks and rec programs and we have enjoyed most of them. They have tumbling for your age group, but I think baseball and soccer etc don't start until four. They do have a fun 'bug class' called Little Safari and an art class among others.

Hope that helps!
