Looking for a Weightloss Buddy

I was wondering if any one out there wants to try to lose weight together through email. I need to lose 30 pounds and I have not been motivated at all lately. I'm an emotional eater. I do keep healthy foods in the house and no sweets, but I just need to not eat so much!
I thought it would be nice to have someone to chat with about weight loss and to check in with about how they are doing and vice versa. I thought maybe we could exchange emails and update each other on our progress.

Hi P.,
I would love to be a weightloss buddy! Maybe this will be the push that I need to lose the weight. I have struggled all my life with my weight and especially since I had my kids it has gotten really bad. I have done just about every diet and I do well on them but then I stop and gain the weight back even though I tell myself I will never let myself get heavy again. Lately it has gotten out of control and I have had no will power and I just keep eating and eating.

Just to give you a brief explanation about myself: I am 37 years old and I have two kids, ages 5 and 9, and I work full time (which I hate) and I also work part time as a lia sophia advisor (which I love)and I am hoping to make that my full time job at some point. At this time my weight loss goal is between 50 - 75 pounds. A little more than you are looking to lose but that's alright. I live in the Phoenixville area with my husband, my kids, my mother in-law and my mother. I know it sounds crazy but we are kind of stuck with the situation (long story that I can get into further later).

Hi P.! I just went through the 'lose 30 lbs' thing. I thought I would share a little of my experience w/ you for some motivation (I know, that's not what you asked for!).

I started on Nutrisystems in Jan. and I can't believe what a success it was. At first I was worried about the cost (like $280 for 5 weeks of food) - but I realized I am getting all my meals and the only extra cost is in fresh fruit and salad... so some of that $ would have been spent anyway on my food. I also learned a lot which I think was the most value. I went off of it and was able to maintain and it was sort of automatic. I did utilize the discussion forums/boards and leaned a lot.

My advice for Nutrisystems is to start slow, and not on day 1 - like ramp up over a 5 day period. Use the extra recipes posted and spruce up the meals. I also select only the foods I like. Some things I can get on my own so no need to get from NS. You order a monthly supply but you get 1 extra week for free so you get 5 weeks of meals/snacks - I was easily able to drag the monthly order to 6 weeks. With 2 of the monthly orders, I was on NS for over 3 months and did well. After 2 months off I just decided to try for an extra 15 so I have started back up this week, I was actually looking forward to it - who would think!?

I need a weighloss buddy but I need more than e-mail. I need someone to commit to walking the track a couple times a week as well!!
