I've already been through 4 different pediatricians with my 2-year-old, & haven't been happy with any of them. I'm expecting another baby in November, & am hoping to find (by then) a pro-breastfeeding doctor who's flexible on vaccines. Does anyone know of a pediatrician with this attitude that's somewhat close to Palatine? I'd love any recommendations!
I recommend ped associates of barrington- Dr. Brown, Dr. Kaufman any one in their practice is awesoeme. Pat is a lactation consultant. They are flexible on vaccines- as long as they get them. some parents choose to seperate the shots and that is fine with them. they have an office in Barrington and are open every other tues at St. Alexis as well. you can call them at ###-###-####
Hi! I take my son to a group in Arlington Heights called North Arlington Pediatrics. It's a big practice, but I like the general parent-oriented attitude of the docs. I'd recommend Dr. Lawhun, Dr. Dobkin, Dr. Geleske. A couple friends of mine also go to this practice and recommended it to me. They have been very flexible with my decisions to space out my son's vaccines. They are pro-breastfeeding as well, although I didn't start going there until I was almost done breastfeeding. We switched from an independent practitioner in Palatine who we had seen from his birth - Dr Duong.
It sounds as if you are looking for a doctor who maybe won't require vaccines. Kudos to you. Contact Homefirst. They are on Golf Road, just west of Wilke in Rolling Meadows. They will treat w/o vaccinating I believe. Or you can call Dr. Tara Whiteman-Fager at Hands on Family Health at 37 S. Northwest Hwy, Palatine, ###-###-####. I think she works closely with them. She's a pediatric and mother specialist in Chiropractic care and would know exactly who to call. Just leave a message if Dr. Tara or Dr. Fager don't answer (Dr. Bill Fager is my chiro and I worked w/Dr. Tara at my last chiro's office) They are wonderful and she knows a lot about the subject.
I would recommend contacting the La Leche League. I think there is a chapter in Schaumburg. La Leche League is dedicated to advocating breastfeeding. They may have lists of breastfeeding-friendly pediatricians in the area. Can't hurt to try them. Hope that helps!! ~ E. R
North Arlington Pediatrics...Great to work with. Dr. Peters has been very flexible with vaccines and we have staggard them with my son...No protests or complaints. Whether bottle or breasted drs. there at that pratice are supportive either way. ###-###-####
We loved our doctor in Arlington Heights. Dr. Kordas from the practice of Pediatric Health Care Associates is wonderful. She really works to build rapport with the child to put them at ease as much as possible and is so patient and understanding with the long list of questions I brought each time (in fact, answered a lot of my questions before I even asked). The whole practice is great, but I recommend Dr. Kordas especially.
Hi - we've been going to WeeCare Pediatrics in Arlington Hts. Specifically, Dr. Goodlow. He believes in vaccinations but is willing to work with us on delaying/selective vax. The office itself is okay - could definitely use a make over but the staff is all great. The office is located near Dundee and AH Roads.
