Looking for a Housekeeper in the Downriver Area

I live in Canton and use a woman named Deb. I found her in the Observer about a year ago. I know Canton and Downriver are about 30 mins apart, but in these times, you never know who might be up for a little drive if it means more income. I really think she does a great job. She has never missed a day & and does a GREAT job. I had previously used Molly Maids and Maid Spotless over the last 3 years and could not have had more issues. Deb charges me $65 to clean my colonial (I have her clean everything but one un-used bedroom) and I then pay her $25 on the off week to just do my main floor. I cannot imagine not having her. I NEVER thought I would hire a cleaner, but after my first was born, I realized that it was more important to spend time with her after work (my husband & I both work full time) then to scrub my house from top to bottom. After baby number two, we added the 1/2 clean on the off week because I felt like I needed the extra clean with the baby. Deb's number is ###-###-#### if you would like to contact her. I know a wonderful woman from Ukraine (she's lived here 4 years) who has glowing references. She has cleaned most of her clients' houses for approximately 3 years. She generally works in the Novi/Farmington Hills area but is open to travel, depending on the distance. Where do you live?

I can't recommend anyone in your area, but if you can, please try to make sure that they use 'green' nontoxic cleaning products. I'm sure that someone might be listed in your phone book. Traditional cleaning products are loaded with toxic chemicals, that are harming our environment and people's health. Small children and fetuses, of course, are especially vulnerable to fumes and absorption through the skin.

Babies are now born with residue from 200 chemicals in their umbilical chord blood. If you have 18 minutes, please go online and watch a Canadian report on cleaning products. Also, a new book just out, "Green Goes with Everything" by Sloan Barnett is a wonderful resource on how to have a healthier, green home. It is on Amazon for about $13. I hope that I can help you out. My SIL and I clean houses and are currently looking for some new clients. We are located in Taylor, so only about 15 minutes from you. We have a 2 Hr. minimum and charge $30 an hour. It would be my SIL and myself cleaning so the work would get done faster. We use eco-friendly products and steam disinfect any hard surfaces.
