Light Stroller

WE have our big Graco stroller, but now that she is a toddler, I was looking for something I can throw in the car easier. I want more than an umbrella stroller, something that has a small basket, a sunshade, but lighter and easy to fold. I have looked at Chicco c5, Mclaren volo, a Graco model and the Zooper online. Any recommendations or dislikes?

So What Happened?

I ended up buying the Chicco Capri, mostly because of cost. I really likes its portability and it has a decent sunshade. I really like the harness and the way there is a cover over the clip. The only downside is that my husband and I are moderately tall and if we walk fast we do occ kick the wheels. But for something easy to keep in the trunk, we are happy. Thanks for all the advice!

I have a Kolcraft that I got at Sears for $45.00 and absolutely love. Very light weight but still has the sunshade, parent tray, tray for toddler, and basket underneath. It is on it's 2nd child and still looks and works great.

Good Luck

Hi I just joined mamasource and I saw your request. If your still looking for a great light stroller I would reccomend this one. Alot of parents think they have to spen major money on it. I us this for my son and its light weight and its great to use. I would giv it 5 stars. When they made this stroller they were thinking of both parent and child.

We have both the Chicco C5 and C6 (sold at Babies R Us as the Chicco Capri). I love both strollers. The C5 is slightly larger and has the adjustable back but my 13 month old really only likes to ride sitting up. I am 5'4" and found the handles on the C5 a bit too tall to be comfortable on long strolls. My 6' husband thinks they're much better than the handles on the other strollers we have used. I have ended up using the C6 (aka Capri) which is lighter but has a smaller basket. The handles are slightly shorter and very comfortable. It is the ONLY stroller I have found from which I can lift my son without the stroller going over backwards because of the diaper bag I keep over the handles. My diaper bag is very heavy and something about the C5 keeps it perfectly balanced. The only drawback to these strollers are the cup holders or the lack of cup holders. The one on the C5 always falls off. The C6 lacks one completely. I purchased some after market ones at Target.com which work well. Also, when you fold the strollers up the inside of the canopy gets dirty from the wheels. But other than those two things, we love the Chiccos. And the price is much better than the McLaren or Peg Pergo. Good luck!

Hi G.,
I'm amazed that your wee one will sit in a stroller now. My toddler is two years old and throws a fit whenever we want him in a stroller, so we got rid of ours and he walks with us at some places. Except the grocery store. He sits in a basket. But the other day we were in the mall, and he walked with us. Pooped him out too. LOL Sorry I have no advice on a light stroller. I wish I could get my toddler to sit in one again. Good luck finding one. G.

We purchased the Maclaren VOLO last october and love it. we bought it for our 3 year old to take to disneyland. My husband and I are tall people and it is tall enough for us. Also it is one of the lightest weight unbrella strollers out there plus it has a big sunshade. We will take it to Disneyland again this fall. Love it!!
