So my period is more than a week late. I've taken several pregnancy test, all negative. I have no signs of my period coming. I am ALWAYS regular with 28-30 day cycles, so i'm just not sure what is going on with my body. And I also dont have any pregnancy signs(but I didnt have any either at first with my daughter) Could I still be pregnant? Is it stress? Am I sick? AND I know that I need(and will) to talk to my doctor to find out whats really wrong but was just wondering if any one else has been in this situation and what happen? I will be calling my dr monday to talk to her bc like I said, this isnt like me or my body!
Thanks everyone :)

What can I do next?

Only a week late there could be several reasons. Pregancy is possible, it just might not be showing up yet. Stress is another possibility. There's really nothing to do but wait and see.
Take another pregnancy test in a week if you still haven't started.

everytime mine is late its stress related from work...not sure what your situation is but if it doesnt come by monday,...i would go get checked...you could be prego too if you ovulated late and the hormone levels are not that high to be detected on a HPT

I would say stress. Stress can delay your ovulation by many days. I've been over a week late due to stress.
I would wait another week to take another HPT. Don't waste your money by taking them over and over. If you don't get a positive or your period by next weekend, then call your doctor.
An GYN wouldnt even consider seeing you until your period is 60 days late. This is because even people with "regular" cycles can also have annovulatory cycles too.

Just a thought...because I've done it myself on more than one occasion...are you sure that you counted correctly? I've accidentally marked it down wrong and panic ensued.

Good luck!

I'd ask about a blood test when you call the dr's office. They're a lot more accurate than a urine test, especially early on.

everyone has had a late period,...either you are pregnant or some stress caused it to be late...either way no one is going to be able to figure out what is going on with you a blood test is needed. may it all go as you hope

Hi A.,
It is possible to skip ovulating and not have a cycle...and then have your cycle resume 28 days after the missed cycle. It happened to me when we were trying for baby number three...we eventually did have her. You are correct in following up with your doctor's office for the pregnancy test and considering ways to reduce your stress.

sometimes your body can just have an off month. I mean yes you could be pregnant and it's just not showing up on the test yet but maybe not. My sister who has two kids once went 45 days between periods when she is always on a 28 to 30 day cycle. She thought she had to be pregnant and took test after test all coming back negative. Then she finally got her period. She hasn't had that happen again she is back to same old 28 to 30 day cycles and she still has no idea why that was so long. I guess sometimes our bodies can just have a little off month from time to time.

Have you had an unusual amount of soy lately? That can make you miss for sure.

Have you been under any extra stress? When I have more stress than usual my cycle can be 5 or 6 days longer than my usual 28. I actually started charting my cycles using the fertility awareness method because it was happening more and more frequently (lots of stress lately!) and it has really set my mind at ease. Check it out online or you can grab a book about it at a bookstore if you are interested.
