I'm wondering if any of you out there can help me find a good kid-friendly dentist in the Rocklin/Roseville area. My daughter just turned five and she needs to see a dentist for a check up. I'm looking for an office that is inviting to kids (ie. toys, books) and a dentist that knows how to work with kids that are easily scared/tentative.
Thanks for your help!!

I have 2 recommendations. If you have insurance to see a pediatric dentist, we use Dr. Speed at the Smile Gallery in Roseville for our daughter. If your insurance only covers regular dentists, our family dentist Dr. Bannai is awesome. They are like a family in there and when I have an appointment they are even fine with me bringing my daughter and letting her stay in the room and watch a video. They are the sweetest people. Located in Roseville too.
Dr. Bannai 406 Sunrise Avenue Suite 240 = Roseville = CA 95661 = ###-###-####
Dr. Joelle Speed 1162 Cirby Way Ste 3, Roseville, CA 95661-4479 Contact Phone ###-###-####
Both have websites too.

My 4 year old daughter went to Dr. Joelle Speed. It was great compared to her previous experience at the dentist that my husband and I use. Dr. Speed is a pediatric dentist that my friend reccomended to me. My friends' husband is also in the dental field. At Dr. Speed's office, there is a movie and toys to play with in the waiting room. After x-rays are taken, the kids get a sticker. The hygenist introduces all the tools to the kids in a fun way. The hygenist showed the water squirting into her hand. My 4 year old was very hesitant, to touch it, but my 19 month old wanted to check it out. It broke that ice and my 4 year old felt more comfortable. My daughter loved the straw "Mr. Thirsty". She had "Mr. Thirsty" drink a cup of water 3 times. Since my 4 year old was scared of being in the dental chair, she got her teeth cleaned in a regular chair.

Before this experience, my daughter was hesitant about the dentist. In her previous experience, the dentist shoved his hands in her mouth. It was very scary for her. Now, she is excited about going to the dentist.

It's not a children's dentist per se, but my 4 year old enjoys going there with me. We just recently had appointments together and it was very smooth. The staff is wonderful, warm and very friendly. Dr. Rick Jaegar, near the intersection of Douglas and Sierra College in Granite Bay. The office is immaculate. ###-###-####.

I don't know of any in Rocklin or Roseville... but just down the road in Citrus Heights there is an amazing pediatric dentist. It is Weidemann Pediatric Dentist near Sunrise Mall. It's an awesome "underwater" office. They have kid movies running, underwater play area, fish tanks, waterfalls, a treasure chest for goodies afterwards, tv screens above the chairs for the longer procedures and even a wooden bridge that you go over into the "video game" area.... This is intended for those families that come in with multiple children, that way the other children are entertained while their siblings are taken care of or the doctor goes over findings/treatments with parents. I can't say enough about them... My son was very fearful of the dentist and after 3 cleanings ~ they won his trust and he did great! I feel they would be well worth the travel... Here's the info...

Weideman, Cynthia L. DDS --Pediatric Dentistry. 7916 Pebble Beach Drive, Suite 101, Citrus Heights, CA 95610. Phone: ###-###-#### ...

I know that Dr. McCurry is very good with kids. He is off of Folsom Rd in Roseville just over the creak from Joyland Preschool. He also has a lot of his own children!
