My daughter, son and I have been sick with some stomach bug. She threw up, I threw up and my son has terrible runny diapers. We might as well camp out in the bathroom. It has been going on for almost a week now and I was just wondering if anyone else got this. I havent thrown up since Saturday but my stomach is still very queasy. If anyone has gotten this lately, can you please tell me how long it lasted for? Thanks
Thank you everyone--We are finally all better!! I dont know if it was rotovirus(I thought my son had the vaccine for that) or just a stomach bug but we all feel better now!! Thanks

Yep. Our house just passed through the Rotavirus. Keep them hydrated and place a call to the doctor to see if they want to see your kids for dehydration.

It circulated around our house for four days. It's been making rounds at our church. And it's not pleasant, as you know! Feel better soon!!
I live in Antioch, and there is something going around. We had to pick my 7 yr old up from school yesterday because he has a fever and his tummy was upset. He never puked and his fever has gone down now. My 11 month old also has something, his fever shot up to 103.9 last night and was puking like crazy. I am taking both boys to the doctors 'sick call' this morning.

My son and I just got over the rotovirus bug. He had diarrhea and vomiting for 5 days. It was miserable. I was only sick for 2 days and we are finally all back to normal (whatever that is!). Make sure you are all getting lots of fluids and rest. Good luck.
I had one last Tuesday night. It lasted from midnight till 6AM and then I spent all day Wednesday recovering. I guess I was lucky about the length of time it lasted. But it is a good thing since I am 6 months PG.
I would go to the ped to check out Rotovirus. It's going around CL and LITH. ER's are full of it. I have actually heard of several kids & younger siblings that had to be hospitalized for dehydration at CL school....
Hate to say it but it sounds like Rotavirus to me. Around 2 weeks the first time but less with each round you get. We had it 14 days the first time, a week break and then another 10 days. It stinks!

there is a bug going around but I thought it seemed like it was starting to lessen (I work at a peds office and the calls are getting less)
My family had it a few weeks ago and went through each of us in turn. It took about a week to run its full course. If it lasts longer than a week, you should call your doctor and be tested for parasites.
ROTAVIRUS - everyone's got it now. The throwing up lasts around 48 hrs. The diahrea lasts for a couple of weeks. Anywhere up to several weeks. VERY VERY VERY contageous...

Just watch him for dehydration, we were in the hospital getting iv fluids becuase my little angel could not keep anything in or down!!!
My son had THE FIFTH about 6 weeks ago. Kids get a rash on the cheeks, throwing up and diarreah. There is a lot of info on it on the internet. It was horrible! My husband and I had it too and we were so sick!
