to everybody that responded, thank you all so much. i am still having some tests done and i will have an ob-gyn appt. soon. i have seen my family doc as well as a neurologist who said that this may all be related to migraines (something i never thought of sonce i have never suffered from one, but anyway) he said that soemtimes people can get migraines without actuially getting a headache, just suffer the queeziness and dizziness and all of the other "fun" things. thanks again to all of you and if anybody has ever had these so called "migraines" please let me know how it worked out for you. you are all so helpful....thanks a bunch!!!

Hi J.! My name is J. I just joined the other day. I have always been irregular. I have had cyst problems all my life. When I was 19 I had an ovary and fallopin tube removed due to a large cyst. I was in sever pain because the cyst had caused the fallopin tube to wrap around the other one. After the birth of my daughter (my 2nd child) I started going months if not a year without. I went to my Gyn and they found that I had endometriosis. They put me on the pill for it but it didn't help. I have countinued my life in the same pattern. It has now been almost 3 yrs. since my last menstrual cycle.

I do suffer from migraines and have never been told that they could affect my menstrual cycle. This is something I may look into. I hope you find out soon what is causing you these problems.

Well do you know if this problem has ever occurred in your family before. Have you talked to your OB/GYN doctor about the situation your going thru at this time. They say that your homones change once u have ur first born child and continues to change as you have more children so that could be the case. I would suggest you look for a second opinion about this situation.
I hope that you get to resolve this matter soon that way all your worries or discomfort can put u at ease.
Best of Luck and I hope that this can help u out somewhat.
Rose.

You should read the book called: What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About(TM): Premenopause: Balance Your Hormones and Your Life from Thirty to Fifty (Mass Market Paperback)
by John R. Lee, Jesse Hanley, Virginia Hopkins

Sounds like you have all the symptoms. Do you have PMS? Or did it get worst after having the baby?

Bioidentical progesteron can help you regulate the cycle and with the PMS (if you have it) as well. It is totally natural, no synthetic hormones.
If you need more info you can email me at ____@____.com

Hope it helps! You are not alone!!

Hi J., What you describe is how my cycles have been all my life. As a teen I played sports and the doc's always contributed it to that. Then I just had them randomly throughout my 20's and 30's but never had a problem getting pg. Then when I turned 40 I just would skip six months and then have them for six months like clockwork, now I'm on progesterone every month and things have leveled out. I had all the same tests after tests over and over again that you speak of and my doc's came up with the same zilch!! Good luck to you and be very honest with your doc. I was the one who suggested the progesterone since I'm heavier and heavier girls usually make more estrogen which will inhibit the levels from being in sinc...

Although there are many things that can affect your menstrual cycle, my concern is the great amount of pain you are experiencing along with the nausia, shakiness and headache. If you haven't seen your OB/GYN please do. If you have, please get a second opinion. I'm surprised they haven't done an ultrasound in the office or sent you for one to make sure that everything is alright. If I were you, I would call the OB/GYN and see if they can perform an ultrasound or if there are other tests to make sure everything is alright. I don't want to scare you but there is so much that the bloodwork wouldn't show and if it was your primary care physician not your OB/GYN doing the tests they might not be looking for everything that they should be.

Good luck with everything. I hope you get some answers soon.

I was just like you when I was younger... you could set a clock to me! Every month.. like clockwork BAM!

Then I had my oldest. I went from having my period every 28 days, heavy at times, for 7 days to every 25 to 28 days, light, for 5 days. Now 2, almost 3 years ago when I had Jon things chaged again (for the better!!) Since then my period has come every 28 days on the nose, lasts for 3 days and is very very very light. OMG I LOVE IT! LOL

But anyways, it could be tons of stuff. Stress, I do believe that stress only makes you late.. not miss is completly. More active - athletic women usually stop having their periods. Heck lets face it, any slightest hormone change could change you completly. Its best to just go for a doc visit and see what happens from there.

Have they yested you for PCOS? I forget what it stands for, but my stepdaughter was diagnosed with it 3 years ago when her cycle started getting really crazy. Your GYN will know what it stands for. I would suggest testing for that.

I had a similar situation, kind of. My periods used to be very regular, too until I had my second child. Then they got very irratic and lasted forever. I also got lots of clots, which I never got before. I too, had the thyroid and other blood tests and nothing came up. My gyno put me on Yasmin to make them more regular. Well, it has been a miracle pill for me. Not only am I extremely regular now, I have not had any break outs on my face (even my dermatologist told me this pill was good to help clear up your complexion) and the clots are gone. My periods only last about 3 days now. Maybe you should look into Yasmin.
Just a thought. Good luck!

You might want to talk to your ob/gyn about getting checked for endometriosis. Also talk to your mom and grandmother when the women in your family start menopause. It might sound funny, but i had the same symptoms in my late 20s early thirtys, and im only 40 now. Good luck .

I know how you feel. I bled for 9 weeks after I had my son, then, when I finally got back on track, they went right back to the same schedule, except they are HEAVY for the first 3 days and VERY painful. I do have an underactive Thyroid and anemia, but my gyn said if they're not back to normal by next month, they'll have to check it out. I hope you feel better soon!!

hi J.,
I am sorry that your system is messed up. I don't really have a good suggestion for youj ust try some vitamins. Maybe your nutrition is not where it should be.
For the pain the best thing to do especially if you don't like to take pills or maybe even something to help while the pills kick, is those heat wraps. They stick to your stomach and heat up to relieve cramping and aching. They work really well for cramps and back pain. You can get them at any drug store. I am not 100% sure what the name of it is. But it comes in a red box.
Good luck

Hi J.,
Several years ago my cycle became very irregular. Like you, it was gradual until I was going months at a time without a period. I had all the blood work done too, which all came back normal. I ended up having an internal ultrasound done. After this the doctor told me I had Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, which wasn't an accurate diagnosis either. It ended up being stress. I didn't "feel" stressed, but when I quit my job I started having regular cycles again. Best wishes! J.

J.,
Have you seen your ob/gyn about this yet? If so, I'd get a second opinion. My sister is currently going through a very similar situation. She had an ultrasound which showed one ovary completely covered in cysts and the other is surrounded by fluid. They think she hemmoraged at some point and the fluid never found its way out. Right now she's waiting to hear from the doc if they need to do surgery to correct it.

Good luck!!

Hi J.. You may want to see if you have PCOS: Polycystic Ovarian Syndrom. I was diagnosed with it 8 yrs ago. A doctor can diagnos it depending on your other symptoms and with a transvaginal ultrasound. It is a difficult condition depending on your symptoms, but there are groups out there that can help. Good Luck!!

J.,

Has your gynecologist done a dye test to check you for fibroids in the uterus? I'm pretty sure a blood test won't show their presence or absence.

Are you under extreme amounts of stress or not getting enough sleep? (I know, who sleeps with a baby around, right?) Both of those can really mess with amount of hormones secreted in our body in turn making periods irregular to non-existant. Are you eating properly? If you are trying to lose weight and aren't getting certain nutrients this could also have an effect.

I don't know if you're currently trying to get pregnant or still breastfeeding, but when I had issues, I went on birth control pills which elminated all my problems.

Good luck!
