We have just moved to Aurora CO with the military and I was wondering what other moms felt about Murphy Creek School. My son will be going into 2nd and so far we have not had a lot of luck with schools or teachers. I just am unsure if this school.
We looked at different school and found one we think was perfect. He is going to Global Village Academy. It is a street over from our house and is a dual immersion school. We feel learning a second language is very important. My son will be learning Chinese.
I used to work for Sylvan over in Aurora. I can't think of anything that made Murphy Creek stand out against the others good or bad. Have you checked the websites of the school districts for Aurora Public Schools and Cherry Creek? You can usually get some good info on the schools' websites.
I don't know anything about Murphy Creek, but I did just tour Vanguard Classical Academy in Aurora. It is a free charter school...only in its second year. It has an amazing curriculum and facilities are top notch. They may have openings for 2nd grade. Definitely worth checking out!
Aurora public schools do not have the best rep. Great schools .net is a good websight for school info. Although be carefull, they give the CSAP alot of weight in their ratings. You are close to Cherry Creek out there, the school that feed into the new midddle and Cherokee Trail are very good if you want to open enroll and drive. Good luck!
Hi! We live on Buckley AFB and are zoned for Murphy Creek. We were not impressed with Murphy Creek school and we didn't have a child there! (principal sent mass letters to be posted on all homes in base housing last school year about the *bad* military kids suggesting that police needed to be involved, and yes, I still have the letter.) Our daughter is beginning Kindergarten this year and will be attending Vanguard Classical School. We are excited about the school she'll be attending!
