I am looking for different ideas for birthday party locations for my daughter who is turning 5. We have always done at home parties with lots of family. Now she has more friends and doing stuff at home is getting just as expensive as letting someone else do all the work.

I don't really care for chucky cheese or a jump place it seems that's what everyone does. We have a good mix of boys and girls. The bad thing is it's only a couple of weeks away. She would like to have a Strawberry Shortcake theme.

Thanks for any idea you might have.

I have checked Lost Mountian Park, Clarkdale park, and Laurel park and they do not have anything avaliable until Septmeber (for a saturday)

What can I do next?

If she just wanted girls there are places like Libby lu and tea parties. For boys and girls there are petting farms with baby animals. Someone also told me about a pkace called Calico Cows, an ice cream place that does parties and lets kids make sundaes and tye dye shirts. I went to a party at the red door playhouse and the kids had fun. Also there are places that have kids cooking parties and places that have sculpting parties. Sometimes I look on the internet for party places in Atlanta and marietta and get alot of ideas.

Hi J.,

My daughter just turned 5, this year we held it at the GAA Gymnastics academy in Atlanta on Hwy 41 Kennesaw. Its great for boys and Girls. We did the Princess theme, and the kids loved the The Pit of Sponge. The Teachers are great their. We go there weekly where she loves and has boys in her class too.

Another Idea.. Is Simply Bisque this is in marietta. Its a Pottery painting place, the kids get to pick out their pottery and paint it, but they also get snacks and cakes too, and you can use your own theme. Good for both boys and girls too. We also checked out horse stables for riding and some of the stables have great parties and things to do for the kids to keep them occupied.

Good luck
Suz

For my son's 4th birthday party we had a bowling party. No experience is necessary -- none of the kids, including our son, had ever bowled before -- but they had the most fun!! They have extra-light bowling balls for the little ones, of course bumpers for the lanes, and even a special ramp that they can push the ball down to get it going down the lane. All the kids had a blast, both boys and girls. The bowling alley (in our case the AMF lanes at Sandy Plains and Piedmont) handled everything: set up, plates, cups, silverware, napkins, table cloths, drinks, pizza, clean-up, and the reasonable cost includes ball rental, if memory serves. My son wanted a dinosaur theme, so we just replaced their table cloth and decorations with ours. They also gave my son a real bowling pin and provided a marker for everyone to sign it. Good luck!

You might try JoAnn Fabrics and crafts. I know it sounds like a "girly" place, but they have birthday parties for chilren and cater to both girls AND boys. I used to work at the one in Kennesaw, and if i remember right, you bring the cake and they provide people to watch over the kids along with a teacher to help them do a craft. The parents are encouraged to stay and do the craft with the kids too (so you aren't having to watch over 20 kids with two Joann's helpers). the whole party lasts an hour or two, and they clean up. it might be worth a try...
