I took my 3 year old daughter to the dentist for the first time yesterday. I even picked out a pediatric dental facility, thinking that that would be the best way to go to make the experience as pleasant as possible for her. Boy was I wrong -- It was AWFUL! So, I'm in desperate need of ANY dentist who is great with children (umm, I'll even take just "nice" after yesterday!) and will take children as young as three. I live in central Pinellas County, but am willing to travel pretty much anywhere in Pinellas or Hillsborough to not put my daughter through an experience like that again.

Dr. John G. Moldt on 126th Street in Largo. He is GREAT with kids, ###-###-####. He goes very slow and talks to the kids and gets them comfortable with him and then has them come again for the actual work. He is very, very good. My daughter loves him.

I took my 3 yr old to Dr. Staves in downtown St.Pete ###-###-####). She is a pediatric dentist who is on my son's insurance. I loved the hygienist in there!
I go to Dr. Black at St. Pete. Dental ###-###-####). I love him! He is wonderful! I would have taken my son to him, but he doesn't take his insurance.

Sorry to hear you had problems with the dentist you chose. I have congenital problems with my teeth and have been concerned that my 3 year old could have the same problems (the problems don't show until the adult teeth start coming in). I have taken her 3 times to Dr. Donna Nichols who is affiliated with the orthodontist I used for braces as a teenager. One thing I liked about her was that I could go back with my daughter since some places don't allow that. They have always been caring and will only do what the child will let them with cleaning and it took the 3 times before she would let them really polish her teeth.

There is a dentist off of 113th St in Seminole. I think his name is John Fadey. He was great with my son! Good luck!
My son has had to have alot of dental work since he was 18 months and I found Dr Fady on 113th in Seminole. He and his staff are great my son now 5 never puts up a fight and always asks when are we going back to the dentist.Dr.Fady also does sedation for more of the big dental work if that helps you. So hopefully you find what you are looking for Good Luck.

Check out his website, very fun for the little ones. He has a submarine in the waiting room that the kids love to play in. My son leaves his office like he has been to a party. Prizes, beads, stickers, tooth brushes, dental floss, the hole nine yards. I was referred to him by my dentist office and by a few friends. Good Luck! We just took our 3 year old son for the first time. I took him with me to watch me get my teeth cleaned and then I scheduled his appt. His dad took him to his appt. Everything went great. The office encouraged me to bring him with me to my appt to get him ready. I use Dr. Busch on Seminole Blvd in Seminole. I have been going to him for about 5 years. He and his staff a great. It is a little distance for me, but I would not gp anywhere else. Good luck

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I just brought both of my kids (ages 3 & 4) to Dr. Pettinato last week. It's a family business. I believe it's a man and his daughters. We saw one of the daughters and she was great. The hygeniests were really good with the kids too. The office we went to is in Carrollwood (N Tampa) on Dale Mabry.
