i was leary about taking our son on the bus wondering if he will be able to sit for that long lol it will be like a 2 1/2 hr ride from our house to the game on the bus. did anyone ever take their toddler on a bus trip and how did they do? its too late the tickets are already bought so theres no turning back lol gotta try everything once right. im hoping he will have a blast.

What can I do next?

He'll love it and probably sleep most of the ride! Just make sure that you have plenty of snacks, books and toys packed (along with extra clothing and diapers) and have a great time!

Take books and toys to keep your baby busy on the bus. My daughter was 6 months old when we flew back the the States after being stationed in Japan (she was born there). Luckily the flight was overnight so she fell asleep an hour into the 13 hour flight and woke up and hour before we landed. During Christmas time, we drove 6 hours to spend the holidays with family, we left the day before her 1st birthday and my daughter did great then too. She napped, looked out the window and played with her toys. She didn't start to get fussy and want out of her carseat until about 4 hours into the drive, so I wouldn't think you should have many issues, but it depends on the personality of your baby. If your baby is very active try to give him/her the window seat and keep him/her engaged to limit his/her chance of getting bored and acting out. Good Luck!

We took our 14 month old on a road trip from St. Louis to Virginia and back! You will be fine! Just make sure to have all the supplies without making your bag too big because that will just be a pain! Try and make sure that he can see our the window and just go with the flow. It may not be a completely painless day but it will be something to get you out and about! Make sure you take a good camera to catch all the fun times and layer the clothes!

Are you just holding him on your lap on the bus? I have never done a bus so I don't know about safety seats etc... but I know some people that may ask. Also, make sure you take a SIMPLE umbrella stroller and not some big clunky thing ($20 at Walmart or less!)

HAVE A BLAST!

I haven't taken them on a bus trip but we have done a 10 hour drive, stopping 1/2 way for the night, about 4 months after our son was potty trained. Talk about stress of the "what if's"! I say enjoy yourself, pack snacks, drinks, and distractions so you are ready with them. Also have a plan for when you need to change a diaper. I would guess they have a restroom on the bus since its a long drive but be prepared bathroom or not for extra protection while changing him. I had to change our son at 2 1/2 yr old son in an airplane bathroom. Their changing stations and bathrooms are small. No fun but we did it. =) Have fun besides you can look out the window and talk about all the neat stuff you see. =)

At that age most kids are amazed at the thought of riding a bus. So chances are over all he will be just fine.

Have fun!!
