I Need to Fit 3 Car/booster Seats in the Back Seat of My van...any Ideas??

I am a childcare provider and in the fall will have 3 of my own children (newborn, 15 months and 4 year old) as well as 2 other children (3 and 5) and want to be able to go to the park, or the library etc with the kids. The only problem is fitting all of the kids in proper car seats as the back seat of my van is a little tight. Do any of you have suggestions for a more narrow booster seat, or have you heard of seat belt positioners that would be safe for the 5 year old?? I am hoping not to have to spend a ton of money, but need to be able to get out some, so any ideas would be great, especially if you have ever had to fit 3 preschoolers in your back seat. Thanks a bunch! ~A.~

I just had to do this in our Chevy Impala and it was a very tight fit. My van was in the shop for a couple of days. I put the two bulky seat on the side doors and the booster seat without a back in the middle. My kids thought it was fun at first until I was getting frustrated making sure everyone was in right. Than they were all so close that they started to fight about space. "I am sure if other people can do it we can too." said my husband but he didn't have to listen to the kids arguing about space between my 5 yr and 3 yr and my 2 yr just cried.
Good LUck!

I bought a travel car seat. It would be perfect for something like this. It's small & can fit in a diaper bag. Basically, it has no bottom, just a back & a 5 point harness. I got mine from One Step Ahead, but they no longer carry it. I have seen them sometimes on Craigslist. You could also Google it & a lot would come up, I think (tho not positive) that Graco makes one too.

Babies r Us will let you take out their display carseats so you can actually buckle them all in. We were able to fit 3 Eddie Bauer Convertible seats in my Trailblazer after taking off the arm rests. It worked, but was very tight! We ended up getting a minivan instead.

contact the local fire station...they are trained in installing car seats. also, do all three seats in your van have shoulder seat belts? If the middle seat only has the lap belt then all the children are too young to sit in that spot.
