I live in the North Kansas City area. The place I am going to now I do not like. There has always been things I did not like but this time I knew we needed another doctor. My little girl is 5 months and they barely sent me the "newborn" screening. When I had her he was never told that I was at the hospital, his staff did not inform him. Alot of things like that.. Well I was researching and saw Northland Pediatrics in Kansas City, Missouri. It seems people have left good comments about them. I was wondering, does anyone take their kids there, or know anyone who does? I just want to make a great choice for my kids. Thanks
I live in Independence and have driven up north to Pediatric Care North since my daughter was born and she is now 13. All the doctors are mothers and I have seen all of them at some point. They are all wonderful and no question is too silly to ask.
They have been worth the drive for me.
Are you looking for a specific area, you didnt specify where in mo you lived. I have a peditrician at depaul his name is dr spiegel ###-###-####. He does saturday hours. That was always good so my hubby could go with me when our son was getting his shots.
I have several friends whose kiddos go to NP and love it. Never heard anything bad about them. Good luck and God Bless.
As far as being told you had the baby did you call the office in advance to let them know what dr you would like to see and get a new patient account setup this would really include your name and duedate.Because if not and you just told the hospital staff teh dr then I would say they didn't know.But that was just an idea to think on if it happened that you did so be it go with your instinct and find the best dr for your baby.
I take both of my kids to Northland Peds. I love my doctor, her name is Dr. Grace Baysa-Ng. She is wonderful. She takes the time to answer any questions you have and takes a real interest in her patients. I would defintely recommend her.
I take my kids to the Childrens Mercy Pediatric Care Center. Its hard to get in at first and you do have to drive down town but it is worth it. I used to take them to Dr Fernandez at North Kansas City and I hated him. He was always rude and in a hurry. I do NOT recommend him!! There is another office at North Kansas City Hospital that is ok. I have heard good and bad things about them.There are alot of pediatricians in the office so you may not always get to see your doc. But my personal choice is Childrens Mercy. I hope you find a good doc for you little one! Dont give up until you are satisfied with your childs care.
I just read your post. I have 6 yo twin girls whom I have been taking to Northland Pediatrics since I had them, and I just love them. I have not had any problems taking them on their well check-ups and when I do have a question about whether or not they need a same day appointment, their response time is unbelievably quick. I would highly recommend them. The doctor the girls see is Dr. Grace Baysa-Ng, but all the doctors there are super!!! Hope this helps!
I agree with a previous poster; I love Dr. Kristen Jacobs at Northland Pediatrics. The nurses are great, too. They always get me in right away if we need it, and they have been great about referrals to specialists. We drive there from Midtown, KC because it is worth it.

I work at a daycare and we have some parens who take their babies there and they just love it. we dont live in the KC area but i have been told its worth the drive so i think my husband and i are going to transfer our daughter there in january when our son is born.
When I lived in North KC, I took my kids to Pediatric Care North (next to St. Luke's Northland), where they saw Dr. Susan Storm. We loved her and we also loved the other doctors, nurse practitioners, lactation consultants, and staff. I would highly recommend her and my friend takes her kids to Dr. Riojas in the same practice. I have a 4yr old girl who was a premie and I also have a 1yr old little girl. I have been with Northland Pediatric since the beginning of my daughters lives. We love all the doctors there. They always answer questions and always get you in the same day when needed. My daughters Primary is Grace Baysa-Ng but we have seen all the docs at some point. Dr Jabobs was on call the day my oldest was born at 32 weeks she truely was amazing she never left my daughters side until Childrens Mercy transported her. She reassured me that they would ever thing in their power to take care of her and she did. They are a wonderful group of doctors.
We've been goin to Pediatric Care North for a couple years now. They are awesome! Even when we've had a few urgent needs, they have gotten us right in! Plus their building is new and clean and the doctors are all really great.
I don't know how far you want to travel- but there is an office in Liberty with 3 amazing doctors! I have NO complaints with any of the doctors or their staff. They are all great and the doctors all do rounds/shifts at Children's Mercy. They also have nights every week with after hours care available. You can call them 24 hrs a day and they will talk to you ANY time. I love that I can call them anytime and that they are available all the time!! One thing I was told as a first time mom was to interview pediatricians before you decide on one. We did and we love this office. I would highly recommend doing the interviews- that way you can see which doctor(s) is available for you when you need them, agrees with your lifestyle/parenting, will take the best care of your child, etc.

I love Northland Pediatrics. I have a one year old son and 10 year old step-daughter who go there. We go see Dr. Kristin Jacobs. My SD is special needs and Dr. Jacobs is so educated and helpful. I would definitely reccomend her!
