The mylicon drops did not work so well for my baby girl. Dr. recommended Baby's Bliss gripewater. You can buy it at Walgreens in the kids section. Worked great!!Usually within a few minutes of taking it she would be happy and peaceful. Good luck!

Wrap baby in swaddled blanket and rock him in rocking chair. May also try warm bath to soothe him. Car ride. If this doesn't work -- then 1 tsp of sugar in 2 oz of water. Only give 1/2 tsp of concentration no more than 3x/day.

i'm all for the gripe water. you can buy it at an indian grocery store for about $3 vs Walmart for $10. If you live in or around plano there is a store off of Spring creek and independence (i'm pretty sure those are the streets)

B.,
My kids are 21 yrs and 18 yrs and I just became a fist time Auntie, just back from staying with my sister to care for the little one. Little one had colic, gas really bad. we tried the drops but after 3 days they didn't work and i insisted my sister call the doctor. he suggested a special formula (a little more expensive but worth it) after 2 days on this formula she was fine. i'm sorry but i can't remember the name of the formula but i'm sure your ped doc can recommend one. also, I would let my niece lay on her tummy and that seemed to really help, especially when she slept. of course i was watching her while she slept on her tummy. also a time or 2 i rolled up a dish towel so that is was about 2 inches thick and put that under her tummy and she liked that as well.

Also try a nice warm bath or soak and run the warm water over the tummy, then when the bath/soak is done, wrap little one up really tight in a blanky with the arms down to the side. my niece slept for 5 hrs on her back like that.

Good luck,
L.

when my twin girls had colic, I gave them Mylicon drops and it really helped. One girl had it so bad that we eventually had to change her formula to Nutramigen, a special pre-digested milk. Within a week, she was miraculously better. Other things we did: my best friend was the bouncy chair that vibrates. Also lay flat on your leg with head down and massage back so that gas can escape. Careful with feedings to limit amount of air getting in. Lay on back and push feet back towards tummy to let gas escape. encourage tummy time to release gas. more mylicon drops. good luck, it is awful to see a little baby in pain.

I know how it is, my oldest son had colic, reflux, the works. We used the mylacon (sp?) drops, but they only worked for a while. We switched him to the evenflo bottles with the bags so we could make sure we pushed all the air out, we also put him on our legs on his tummy and patted his bottom and bounced him, or put him on the washer on spin cycle (with him buckled in his carseat) and standing right there of course. My mil also told me to boil mancinilla (sp?) tea, let it cool down (not sure how old the baby is or how much he drinks) but mix like 1 oz of tea to 2 oz of water. My sons pedi also switched his formula to Nutramigin. I hope this helps you and the baby best of luck, if you have any more questions dont hesitate to ask, and CONGRATS on your new grandson!!

My 10 yo had colic and, like the others, we tried the Mylicon drops. They do help some. However, we had to change our son to a soy-based formula to stop the colic. If that's the problem, then the formula change is a REALLY fast fix. It's amazing.

I know how it is. My youngest had colic, gas and acid reflux all at the same time. It's not any fun. What kind of formula is he on and what kind of bottles is he using? I used Dr Brown bottles which helped a lot and gave my son colic tablets which dissolve under his tongue and are 100% all natural and they are by Hyland's. Gripe Water helps as well. I also would give him gas drops and put it in his formula or give it to him right before he had a bottle.

If there is any more questions pls contact me.
Thanks and I hope this helps.
