My sister just found out that she is pregnant and would love a clever way to tell her 7 and 6 year old that she is pregnant. They have been asking for years for a baby, so she is pretty sure they will be excited about the news. She was hoping that you mamas can give some fun and clever ways to tell them that she is pregnant that don't cost a lot of money. Thanks.

What can I do next?

I would buy them a new t-shirt that says "I love my 3 children". Or make a cake that says that on the cake!!! so fun!

She could say... " Your dad and I have some exciting news." And then have the kids look for words around the house that when put together form a sentence like..... "Let's celebrate! Mom's pregnant or.... You're going to be a big brother/sister." Write each word on an index card and tape them around the walls of the house or on objects. Then let the kids find all the cards (tell them how many word cards there are) then they have to work cooperatively to form the exciting news sentence.

Then they could make something for the baby like use fabric paint to paint a onesizes or paint a bib.

I love the Tshirt idea, and was going to suggest that. There are also picture frames out there that say Big Sister or Big Brother, it would also be great if she gift wrapped them and let the kids open them.

You could go to a restaurant and say something like "wow we won't fit in this booth much longer, were going to need a bigger table that will fit 5 of us" it might take a couple of sentences like that for them to get it but they will.

she could get (or make) them each a shirt that says "I'm going to be a big sister" and "i'm going to be a biger sister (again)". I made one for my daughter and sent out a pic to everyone to announce it to everyone when I had my second. You can buy iron on transfer paper, and design something on the computer, and then put it on a plain t-shirt.

Since Valentine's is coming, you could do something around that. Give them each a 'I'm a Big ___' item. Maybe have Dad give Mom a picture frame with 3 spots in it (or 4 if dad wants in).

Oh, for Christmas, I got a picture frame with 3 spots in it. Under the pics it said 'All because 2 people fell in love'....I think hubby got it at Target or Kohls

How about one of those photo cakes? She could have the ultrasound pic put on and then write "Congratulations, You are going to have a baby sibling" or some other cute saying.

She could do a card "Happy Valentines day from your new sibling"

I think she should do a treasure hunt around the house!

Make up rhyming clues and have the kids work together to find them. At the very end of the hunt when they finally get to the treasure she could have some special items there. Big Brother/Sister shirts, cake, pacifier and baby blanket, etc. Whatever she wants.

The last clue AT THE TREASURE BEFORE THEY OPEN IT could read something about: I don't know if we will need blue or pink what do you two big (brother/sisters') think? Lets celebrate!
