I have recently re-started working out and it seems my efforts aren't paying off. I'm still craving the much needed (at least I think so) chocolate. I have gained 30 pounds in three years off and on since quitting smoking. My husband has hinted around to the fact that I'm getting little too big. And to say the least, our sex life is suffering. I need to know how to thrwart my cravings both early day and midnight. I seem to snack at all times of the night and can't help it. Like no matter how much I try to resist, I reach unconsciously. My matabolism is slow as heck and I can't seem to figure out a way to speed it up. I don't have money to join a gym (have enough of equipment in my basement to open one up) and I don't have money for LA Weightloss or programs like that. I want to do it the right and natural way. I just need help on how get rid of the sneaky snacking. Any suggestions help. My marriage and self being depends on it. I need to lose at least 50 pounds.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I am going to join LA Weightloss in January but I'm not waiting to start then. I've already begun to take the necessary steps to start losing that weight. I have prayed for the night cravings to stop and I have started leaving the sugar alone and am eating much healthier foods during the day and at night. My only downfall is that time of the month when the chocolate cravings are so fierce that I actually get mean when I can't get any. So although I'm doing well, I still have a ways to go yet. We'll see what happens with LA Weightloss. Keep me in your prayers.

I'm right there with you. You don't need a gym to workout. Just a couple of good girlfriends. They buddy system is key.

well. I know you said you don't have the money for weight watchers but that is one of my suggestions. I joined on may 15 and nave lost 31Lbs it is an awesome program. also you need muscle to speed up metaboliism so get moving if you aren't add weight resistance to build some muscle. a great thing about YSU iS THEY HAVE THE REC CENTER YOU CAN USE FOR FREE AND CLASSES TO TAKE LIKE PILATES! GOOD LUCK!

i have become overweight too in the past couple of years. i myself am in the process of finding a new way to lose weight because joining curves for a year did not work. i have heard that LA weightloss sometimes runs specials for only one dollar a week payable in advance. you could save that up slowly over the course of a month if money is tight in your family. they dont run it all the time though. i just saw that they do have am internet coupon special. print out the coupon and pay only 3 dollars a week. much cheaper than a gym and they guarantee that you will see results. i am thinking of joining.
as far as evening cravings...i dont know what your spiritual beliefs are but i know that for me i just ask god to please help my cravings go away and to not let me eat bad foods in the evening. it really works for me!(when i actually do it). so if all else fails you may want to try that just to see.
and walking for any amount of time most days per week will definitely show you some results, not to mention make you feel happier and more motivated.
there is also a new show on discovery health called "you on a diet" it is doctor mehmet oz and his partner showing regular overweight americans how to lose pounds and inches with just some lifestyle changes. i think its only on once a week.
