Hi Ladies, Please feel free to share your homeopathic remedies you use on your babies to sleep through the night and stop crying. My 11 month old who used to be a great sleeper has now been screaming his head off every two hours during the night. I'm pretty sure it's from teething now but I'm calling my doctor just to make sure. Tylenol used to work but not anymore, he'll fall back asleep for just an hour after a dose so it's not even worth it. Thanks so much from one tired, running on empty momma!

So What Happened?

Thank you! Called the doc and she reccomended the teething tablets as well. I also asked her about maybe switching to Motrin and she said that's fine too. Tonight when I get home from work I will massage the little guy like advised and rub some cammomile before bed time on him along some tablets or motrin hopefully he'll get a much need good night of rest and so will I:)

Essential Oils can be very calming (I use Young Living oils) You can diffuse them or mix a drop or two into some olive oil and rub it on the bottom of their feet. Lavender an Peace & Calming are two favorites.

Homeopathic Chamomilla (Chamomile) is good for upset kids who are teething. Homeopathic Hypericum will also help if he is teething. It's a great remedy for nerve pain. My 6 year old has started loosing her baby teeth and the Hypericum helped with the discomfort she was feeling. You can get both pills at Whole Foods. Start with a 6x or 30x strength. for your baby.

I think you're doing the right thing by reaching out to your pediatrician. It sounds like there is a medical reason he's waking screaming. It could be something simple like night terrors, but they don't happen that frequently, which makes me wonder if there's an ear infection, acid reflux, etc.

As for homeopathic solutions, my only word of advice is to be cautious as few have clinical studies to support the claims of doing what they're supposed to. And, what works for an adult may be toxic to a child.

So, if you find something, I'd just ask the pediatrician or pharmacist their opinion on dosing, safety, etc. Usually, you can get them on the phone for an easy answer.

Good luck - hope you're sleeping well soon.

Hylands teething tablets help. Colic calm, infant massage. Bath with low lights before bed with a capful of lavender oil--helps them relax and sleep deeper. snuggle time with lots of books and make sure throughout the day that your baby is getting enough stimulation/exercise etc.

Good luck! This will pass....hang in there~

Teething tablets!! My son actually had to have cocktail made so that he would be pain free enough. I did the three tablets like they suggest, but added 1/4 dose of tylanol and my son was asleep in no time.
If your son also going throug a growth spurt, I would suggest a great massage after a bath and then kind of do gentle streatches to allow the muscles to losen up. My uncle suggested this to me (he is a massage therapist) and I was telling him how my son would not stay asleep and would wake up screaming!!! All you have to do is gently pull his foot across his upper body on the opposite side and repeat on the other leg. This helped my son out a LOT!! My uncle was telling me about how babies bones grow faster than the muscle so there is a lot of streatching that is obviously painful. Worth a try :)

For us it helps to wash their clothes in lavender. I is great for relaxing and helping the little one sleep. I have found little bears and other things that smell like it too. For pain you have to some times just go with a pain-killer. Try different ones and see what works the best for your child.

The Nikken Sleep System uses the earths' natural magnetic and far-infrared energy to balance body temperature and ph levels, and improve circulation, all of which promote restful, recuperative sleep. Since purchasing mine, I fall asleep faster, sleep deeper, and wake up more refreshed, all without any drugs or side-effects. My two-year-old granddaughter has always had difficulty sleeping, and she now sleeps much better with this system.

We have all the conventional bed sizes, and a pet pad that fits perfectly in baby cribs. To learn more, please visit my website at www.nikken.com/brendaramsey, or feel free to message me privately. I'd be happy to tell you more about how it works.

Your ideas of using teething tablets and Chamomilla are excellent. We actually find the chamomilla to work best. I would not use Motrin at all. It can cause liver and kidney failure. Do a search on motrin side effects and you will find this info.

I tried to go natural with my baby, but the ONLY thing that helped her teething pain was Motrin. Use generic now, though, because Children's Motrin was recalled.

As far as the teething, there are homeopathic teething pills that melt in your mouth. You can get them at Wal-Mart. You may have to search in the homeopathic area as well as the teething area. The brand name is Hylands and it comes in a plastic bottle with a pinkish/blue label. If I could buy stock in them, I would.

Double check that there isn't any drafts, sounds, etc. that could be waking him up too. By chance could he have gas in his tummy? If so, a nurse gave me this secret when I didn't think I could last another minute w/ a crying baby......Wet a small towel and heat it up in the microwave for a minute. Wrap it with a dry towel. Feel the temp., as you don't want it too hot to burn him but you do want it pretty warm. Place it on your tummy and the baby on top of it. The heat does something to move the gas and relax the child. It shouldn't take long for him to quit crying and fall asleep. Best wishes!

I know that Arnica is a homeopathic pain remedy. I have used it very successfully on my dogs and I know a couple of women that take it themselves. Also, it helps cut down on bruising and swelling if you take it before a procedure. That's all I really know that is homeopathic. Poor baby. :(
