I am looking for free medical diagnosis of this condition that I have recently come down with. I can't seem to find any website that can come up with free ideas as to what I have. I am under medical care, but getting nowhere. Here is my condition. I am thinking west nile, mono or rhem. arthytis.
I am 49, female, probably going through menopause, but still bleeding. I have fibroids on my uterus and have difficult periods. Two weekends ago,I had a very difficult period, lost a lot of blood. This happens when I gain weight (gained 5 pounds in a month). After the weekend, I was just felling lousy, feeling like I "had cancer". I would feel sluggish, light headed. I have arthritis in my fingers and back and they were incredibly painful. On Wednesday, I saw my doctor who had me get a blood screening. My WBC was at 1.4. Everything else seems a bit low, but not alarming. She had me see a hemolologist who did another screening. He said I was back to normal (3.0) and there appeared to be nothing else that was serious. I that point I had swollen lymph nodes. Next day, I came down with swollen hands. I then went back to the doctor who is having me see another hemo doctor on Tuesday. Now the lymph nodes down my neck are swelling, but not my glands in my throat.
Today, 5/7/08, had 10 tubes of blood extracted for all sorts of tests. I am feeling much better, but lymph nodes on back of my head are still swollen. This hemotologist feels it is defintely a virus of some sort. I will get results back on 5/20/08. I will post what it says.

I put all the symptoms in google and it showed several sites about Lyme disease. Have they thought about this. Sometimes the bullseye rash they talk about is somewhere you can't see or you did not notice. The other thing that comes to my mind is Hashimotos Thyroiditis because it seems to have all of your symptoms. Your doctor would need to do a TSH level if they have not already done this. My thought is that they were looking for a blood disorder like Leukemia they may have overlooked this. I have this problem and I also saw it featured on Mystery Diagnosis on discovery health.

I am definitely not an expert but I know that diet has a lot to do with our wonderful women problems. A lot of women don't know that, if you are not lactose intolerant, that milk or lots of calcium really helps. I drink Lactaid milk especially when I have my period. Also eating a foods that are high in iron before and during your period also helps. I used to feel veery ache all over and when I changed my diet and stayed away also from foods with gluten in them I started feeling a lot better. I hope this helps. It really helped me a lot. I am going to be 43 this week. Also my period seems back to normal.

try taking vitamins with minerals and see if that doesn't help because of the heavy periods.
Maybe it is mono with the glands.
I knew a woman with swollen hands and it was some sort of wierd thing like cellulitis?
Any time anything happens to me, my dr says to drink more water, and it seems to work. Doesn't hurt anyway.

Did they check all of your hormone levels? One little thing out of whack could create a hell-ish feeling for you. Good luck and I hope they find the problem very soon, feel better!

You might ask your Dr. to run a titer test (blood) for Epstein Barr. Many over look this. I had it back years ago well and actually still have it since it is a virus that never leaves however I manage it well now. I was treated for over 6 months for everything under the sun, ear infections, swollen lymph nodes etc. Antibiotic's would put me to sleep I was very fatigued and forgetful. Anyway after have 3 other friends already diagnosed with it I asked to have the Titer Test done and long and behold it came back very positive. My Dr. immediately sent me to an infectious disease. It is not a diagnosis, but a only a suggestion. The other is testing for lupus and/or any other auto-immune diseases. good Luck
Not sure.. but it sounds to me like you are feeling run down from loosing so much blood so fast. Have you ever heard of Manorrhagia? Here is the description from my Obgyn's websight:
Menorrhagia
Heavy vaginal bleeding, known as menorrhagia, may be either prolonged menstrual flow (greater than 9 days) or excessive flow which may occur at the time of menstruation or in between periods. Most women not on hormones (such as birth control pills) during a normal menstrual cycle can go several hours without changing their pads. If your pad is saturated and needs to be changed every one to two hours, or you need to get up at night to change pads, you should consider this abnormal and have this evaluated by a physician.
Bleeding that occurs in between periods may also be due to abnormal conditions, although some women normally have a day or two of spotting midcycle during their time of ovulation. This may also be normally seen when starting birth control pills or changing to a different pill. You may also experience a change in bleeding patterns during times of increased stress. Under these benign circumstances, bleeding in between periods should not be persistent. If it occurs consistently, see your physician.
Any vaginal bleeding that occurs after menopause should be considered abnormal and needs to be investigated immediately.
There is actually a procedure that can be done to treat or help this. I am planning to have it done myself. Hope this helps.
