Hi V.,
I dealt with this a couple years ago when my daughter was 21 months. She went four months having a fever every four weeks. Her highest temp was 105.5 that landed us in emergency because we could not get it down at home. Each month the duration of the fever went down until it didn't happen anymore. Fortunatley we have not had any problems since. She didn't have any other symptoms aside from the fever; my daughter doesn't slow down until she gets above 102. When I researched it a couple years ago there wasn't much information about it. Hopefully your sons will go away and not be an issue for his whole life. If you find out any information about it, please pass it my way.

My friends son has something similar to or exactly like this. She has been going through this for over a year with him and so far they've had some luck controlling it with steroids and some other methods. Her son has been to specialists and in and out of hospitals as well, however her pediatrician says there's a possibility he may out grow it. Hopefully your son will to!

It might also be reactions to vaccinations. This can happen up to a month or longer after a child receives their shots as the immune system is being worked by the junk that is put in the vaccinations. Best to use Motrin instead of Tylenol as well.

You can go to several sites for more information on this and one that will explain symptoms and additional information is

I would refer you to Dr. David Karaba at East West Medical Group in Fullerton. Because they practice a combination of Eastern and Western medicine, I have found their perspective to be wider ranging. Dr. Karaba will give you a free consultation to discuss possiblities with you. ###-###-####

I love him, as do my son, daughter in law, and 2 grandkids.

I don't have advice so much, but I think I might have finally found out what I had when I was a child.
I would get low grade to very high grade fevers for no reason what so ever. They would make me feel a bit ill but then just go away. I would also have joint pain often. My doctors would just say it was growing pains. It makes sense now.
I do know that I every once in awhile will get the fevers now and again. The joint pain is less frequent. I learned to just deal with it unfortunatley. I am notcing that my daughter may have it. She will get low grade fevers every so often as well.
My brother was the same way. And still gets the joint pain.

Hi V....
I'm a nurse practitioner in the Rheumatology Dept at Children's Hospital Orange County. We deal with Periodic Fever Syndrome as well as other auto immune illnesses. I would recommend that you get a referral to a pediatric rheumatologist for a work-up
