We are looking to spend a night at Great Wolf Lodge during Spring Break this year but the rates are increased by more than $100 for that time frame. I'm wondering if any of you out there know of any discounts or have any coupons that you may not be using that you wouldn't mind passing on? Also, if any of you have any suggestion, tips, etc about Great Wolf Lodge itself? Thank you all in advance for your comments, I do appreciate your help!

I don't know of any discounts but we encountered the same thing with the price last summer. We were wanting to do a close and easy before school started back trip and found that the rates were outrageous, so we waited until the week after school started back and spent the weekend when it was significantly cheaper. It didn't make any difference to my kids when we went as long as they got the chance to go.

As far as feeling jipped by the check in times that another poster talked about, you are able to use the water park before you get in your room. I think you can start using the water park around 11 am or noon on the day you check in. We stopped at the Rainforest Cafe for lunch in the Grapevine Mills Mall and then went over and checked in, and our room was ready early. If your room is not ready though pack all of your swimsuits in a separate small bag and they have really nice restrooms/changing areas that you can get changed in so that you can enjoy the waterpark. Also as far as the day you check out, you can continue to enjoy the waterpark after you check out as long as you keep your wristbands. We checked out, took our bags to the car (still keeping a small bag out with clothes that we planned to change back into before we left), and then were able to enjoy the waterpark the rest of the day. It was fun, my kids LOVED IT and it was nice that I didn't have to worry about sunscreen, it being too hot or cold, or lugging towels and lifejackets etc (all are provided at no cost). My only advice would be go down first thing in the morning before you get breakfast and grab a table and chairs, they seemed to go really fast.

I may have expected too much, but I was let down. My kids LOVED it and the water park was a lot of fun, but the rooms were just like any hotel room...you just pay $300 for them! I know I'm not answering your question, sorry. I just doubt we'll go again. We couldn't check in until 3 or 4pm and then by the time we got into our room and settled, we could only play in the water for a couple hours before dinner and bedtime. The next morning we woke up early, ate and played for maybe an hour before we had to check out. I guess if you stay 2 nights you'd feel more like you're getting your money's worth. I'm really not a cheap person, just felt a little jipped, but again the kids did love it, even if only for a few hours. Guess everyone should experience it once.

I don't think they have any discounts, especially during peak times like Spring Break. Also, they probably have a minimum stay requirement of two nights (or more) during that time.

I've heard some really great things about it though.

Have fun!

We've not been either but I have had friends who did go. They kids loved it.

Of course, Great Wolf knows when all the spring breaks are for the school districts!!! Sorry but I don't think there are discounts around for them. The lower rate rooms are all on off days.

I know my friend paid around $500+ for the room only but he said it was worth it.

I have never been so can't be of too much help, but I do know that a friend of mine brought in pizza for dinner one night that they were there. It cost a lot less than eating in the dining room and the kids thought it was fun to have a picnic in the room.

I'll be interested in hearing your other responses, as we're hoping to go sometime soon as well!
