I have the attention span of a chipmunk. I have Denise Richards Pilates and I love it, but I just can't get through all of it because I get bored. Tonight I only did about 15 minutes because I just know I can't get though all of it. I have been so out of shape for a long time, but I used to do musical theatre all the time so I would dance all the time. So I know I had some physical activities. Now a days, nothing. My sister and I are determined to lose weight this year, but I am wanting to start with 30 minutes and work my way up to the full hour. Any good suggestions?
* I do have a gym membership, but whenever my son is at daycare, I'm not stop school/work so I can't go then. And then I don't have a babysitter at night when he is asleep. So I do need the dvd's :(

What can I do next?

jillians 30 day shred.......many other people are going to say the same thing,,,,for a reason, Its 20 minutes, multi level, and there are options for different intensities on the three different levels, i have completely changed my body in 2 months.

Its so easy to carve out 20 minutes in my day, no matter how i feel or what i have to do rolling out the mat and putting on tennis shoes is so easy to commit to. Jillian Is a good trainer, no nonsense and she describes the benefits of the workouts as she does them with you. Its pretty easy, but also hard core.

I recommend: Leslie Sansone: Walk at Home - 5 Day Slim Down - A Mile Each Morning. It's 5 days of 15 minute miles. You choose to either do 15 minutes and stop or you can do 30, 45, or 60 minutes. I LOVE this dvd. You don't need special equipment and it's super easy to do. Here's the link to Amazon & I think it's sold at Target too. It's a $10 dvd: http://www.amazon.com/Leslie-Sansone-Walk-Home-Morning/dp...

Best of luck to you & your sister! :)

The Biggest Loser Cardio Max. It's AMAZING! What's even better is that you can expand with it. There is a warm up, three different levels of cardio and then a cool down/stretch. You can select what of any of this you want to do. All I ever do is the warm up, level 1 cardio and cool down and I could fall over dead from the workout. LOL! The exercises aren't hard at all but they're effective. You'll sweat. Good luck!

Considering what you've enjoyed (musical theatre) I hope my suggestion will work for you...it's the only thing that works for me!

I do my chores with my mp3 player. All the different styles of music invoke different styles of dance (and I love to dance) so you really get a well-rounded, full body workout...while doing what you have to do! So, I hip swing and do leg lifts (side and back, works the thighs and butt) while I'm doing the dishes, I do half crunches (like, halfway down and back up) while I'm folding laundry, bop around while cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, whatever...and it adds up to at least a half hour every day, I don't even notice it, and it works. :) At night, when no one will see, I kind've jump around the back yard and bend over to pick up sticks, etc.

All to music! For me, good music is the key to not being bored with your workout...and sometimes, working out on the floor in front of the TV with a show you actually really like. Workout videos are all boring...but believe me, I love to do situps or stretches or whatever while watching the Office! Half an hour!

Tae Bo will whip you into shape in no time. My favorite is the 8 minute workout, which is actually about 20 minutes because it has a warm up and cool down (which are actually pretty hard themselves!). There are also Tae Bo videos that target abs, are beginner or advanced levels, and some to use if you have a weight bag (I don't, but it's a fun idea). I just got my sister hooked, and she LOVES them, she says she looks foward to her time with Billy Blanks and loves that she has sweat dripping from her elbows! :) Good luck!

I like Billy Blanks Tae Bo because you stay moving, and not in that slowly switching positions kind of way. Sadly I only have his old stuff on VHS so I am not sure about his new stuff. I plan on getting them though and tryin them out.
Good Luck!

30 DAY SHRED! Yes Yes Yes, Gillian Michaels does it. The work outs are 20 min but I jump on my elliptical for 10-20 min too. Because its short, she makes you work multiple muscle groups at the same time, hard, and with no breaks. If what you want is results, there is no getting around that you have to work out hard. If you don't scream and grunt, you aren't working hard enough. You will with this DVD. Also love that there are three levels, so you can keep challenging yourself.
