Does she have any hobbies? Thinking back to when I was that age, the prefect gift would have been silk or cashmere yarn, as I was and still am an avid knitter. Either that or 5000 piece puzzle. Of course the puzzle would be done in about a day but that was the way I was.

I was talk to her mom or her and ask if there is anything she wants or needs.

How about a book or gift certificate. Clothes would work if you know what she likes. Also if she likes pictures you can get a scrapbook and scrapbook supplies (stickers, tape, paper) so she can make her own and work with her mom or friends on it.

Poor girl will go into culture shock when she gets out in the real world. Girls always like clothes. I nice piece of jewerly might be nice considering she probably doesn't have much. A couple of good books if she enjoys reading. A game the family can enjoy. I grew up on a farm with seven brothers. At fourteen was when my Mom first bought me finger nail polish and lip stick. Boy did I think it was cool at the time. If I were you I would just ask her what she would like for Christmas. That's the best route to take. Most girls like bubble bath. But just ask her what she would like. That's what I would do.

Even at 14, I used to love to get arts and crafts kits as gifts. Needlepoint kits, cross stitch patterns, a pattern for easy to make PJs and some cute flannel fabric (if she has access to a sewing machine). I know they're a little impersonal, but if she likes to read, a gift card to Barnes & Noble is usually appreciated, too.

jewelry, or you could call her up to just say "hi" because you've missed her and in the middle of conversation say something like " ahh these days i don't know what teen girls like when i was young i liked doing so and so...what do you like? what's your fav thing to do?" not if she tells you it's reading find out from her mom what her fav. book is...or even buy her tickets to bush gardens. Or even LPzoo for the whole family it's like 20 per person i think...they'll enjoy that if they haven't been there...and trust me the sheltering her parents are doing is a good thing. too many teens disrespecting their parent and getting pregnant it's a zoo out there. best wishes!

also..another idea is a personalized pillow. you can search online they have very chick ones and with the childs name on it. i had this one website but at the moment can't find it but if you're interested in it let me know or do some searching! hope this helps

How about a DVD series like the Treasure series with Nicolas Cage or Princess Diaries or something similar. A gift card to Family Christian Stores, CDs of contemporary Christian artists (Relient K, Switchfoot, PlayRadioPlay!,Toby Mac) Tickets to a museum or amusement park. Annual pass to the local science center or zoo. Tickets to the orchestra or to a play.

If she enjoys horses, there are several matching tack sets that are awesome. My daughter loves TACK! LOL She lives and breathes horses.

Our kids have grown up pretty sheltered as well and we enjoy lots of outdoor activities. My daughter loves cookbooks and art. When she gets in the mood, we eat like royalty! She also enjoys wildlife and camping and kayaking. You may need to check with her family first to see which direction to go but there are many great options.

When I turned 14 I was given a book to write in . It was a beautiful book hard cover and lines inside. I still have my first one which is very fun to look back and read. I have continued to buy one every year. At 14 they want to feel a little grown up so another suggestion would be a pretty figurine. Good luck

My daughters are 15 and 11 and they both love thier digital cameras! They take pictures of everything from sunsets, to pets, to silly pictures of themselves. You can buy a decent camera for around $100, if you don't mind spending that much. Don't forget a memory card too!

Hi C.! I have several grand teens right now and one thing I know all the girls love is keeping a journal and making jewelry. We moved to Florida a little over a year ago and when my grandkids visit they want to make shark teeth necklaces and shell earrings. If she is into sewing or scrapbooking there are so many kits out to make things that one should never be bored. My grandteens love it when I send them recipes so I hope this helps you.God Bless and take care! My girls are 11 & 13 and discovered the velvet box in the past few years, you can never go wrong with jewelery. You may want to ask if here ears are pierced before you buy earrings though.

Also, do not be affraid to call and ask the girl, by that age they will tell you what they want. She might even give you an idea that she would be affraid to ask mom, so after you talk to her you might want to talk to mom.

Lastly girls that age love pictures, frames, scrapbooking, throw away cameras if she does not already have a digital.
