I don't know your area, but I agree with Narita. Keep it very simple, family a few friends. Only about 2 hours or he will be overwhelmed by it all. The best part will be the CAKE ATTACK!!!
I don't know where you live, but I've learned that for the first birthday you may as well keep it simple. The children are a bit young to truly understand a party. The best thing for them is to be with family or friends and stuff cake in their mouths...sorry i can't help you out with a place.
Hi T.,
Not sure about the costs, but you might try the Smith Playground in Fairmount Park. It is an absolutely fabulous playground and play house. (Especially if a lot of kids will be attending.) Not sure how much interest your one year old will have -- but if he's walking he'll dig it. We took my daughter when she was a little older (15 mos) and she really enjoyed herself. Check it out online: http://www.smithplayhouse.org/ I think this is really a "hidden jem" in the city.
Otherwise try the Please Touch Museum also in Fairmount Park. Your one year old might have limited interest, but if there are other kids coming they will love it.
Good luck.
This site has people from Pa, NJ and i don't know where else. I checked your profile and see that you are from Abington. I'm not, so i can't help you personally. You might want to start with the phonebook sometimes in the front they have a listing of playgrounds etc. You could check locations and then start calling to see which places have a fee, or which need reservations, which have covered pavillions, etc.
happy Birthday to your little one!
