Feedback on the 3 Day Potty Training Method.

I ended up skipping this the weekend I originally planned to train and just had some fun with my little guy during my time off. I am still keeping it in mind for later. Good luck.

I think it's great. it worked for my daughter at like 20 months. But just like anyone they will have off days, or get sick or what ever and there will be set backs, just start again, cuz heck it's only 3 days. I just love the fact that you are hydrating them and helping them to realize what the urge feels like, oh and please to make this work you need to be calm and patient. It's hard in your grown up mind to remember that but these are just little peole learnign something totally new. Good Luck!!! no more diapers!!!!

It works for a few lucky families. I know most of the books claim that it will always work if you just do it correctly. I don't believe them. I tend to cast doubt on anything saying "always" or "never". In this case, I think it doesn't work for most people. It didn't work for my kids or my brother when he was a kid (yes, it's been around that long). But, by all means try it. Maybe it'll work for you. Just don't feel bad if it doesn't. They'll get potty trained eventually.

I did this on all 3 of my kids. didnt work on my first child (my son),my 2nd child who also is a boy it did work. he was potty trained in 3 days,before he turned 2. I also did it with my little girl and it worked on her too,she was potty trained before she turned 2 also!

I did something similar with my daughter when she was 21 months old. I just bought about 20 pairs of underwear, gave her lots of water and hunkered down for a couple days. When we went out, I took her portable potty with us. It was the kind with three parts... a base (that doubles as a stool), a seat (that can also be placed on the toilet) and a reservoir. I had her go pee before we went into any store. We only had a couple accidents while we were out. It actually took a few weeks before she was trained to pee on the potty. Now BMs on the potty were a different story. That took a couple months, but we had plenty of underwear so we just threw them out if she had an accident.

The biggest thing to remember, no matter what potty training method you use, is praise, praise, praise and never scold. We didn't ever use stickers or M&Ms as a prize... we just sang and danced and acted silly whenever she used the toilet.

My friend used this method exactly by the book with her son and loved it. He was about two months past his third birthday, so he was totally ready. She didn't really introduce the potty before it. Her book included underwear at night, and he wet the first night or two but made it to 5am or so every night afterward without accidents (she got him up to go to the bathroom).
