I am trying to get some new books for my son. He is almost 2. I was wondering what books are your child's favorites?

What can I do next?

Just about anything from Eric Carle (Brown Bear, Brown Bear; Very Hungry Caterpillar; Very busy spider, etc.)
Sandra Boynton books are fun, especially "Doggies" (lots of barking!)
Pat the bunny is still a favorite, as is Goodnight Moon.

My kids loved Maisy books at that age. Bright colors. Easy to memorize text. The TV version is on Noggin. It's in 20 min. segements so it's not too much at a time. Hope this helps.

Hi, Graham Base has books that are both beautiful to look at, and to listen to. My kids, ages 11, 5 and 2, all love them. Hope this helps.

I always take my 17 month old to Half Price Books and let him pick his books. They have awesome prices. You can get several for the price of one elsewhere. He loves Bob the Builder (In fact I am on my 4th copy of Bob's Bedtime!) He also likes the Priddy and DK Books, which just have pictures and words identifying them. Half Price has several of those. There is also a series of 4 books that a friend sent us from England that he absolutely adores. I haven't seen them here though, but keep a look out for "Big Bulldozer," "Big Racing Car," "Big Fire Engine," and "Big Tractor" by Parragon Publishing. They are large board books with very simple stories and nice big bright pictures.

My almost 2 yr old boy LOVES any book about tractors. John Deere makes some great children's books with cartoon tractors. Also the Bob the Builder series is a hit at our house too. I also highly recommend getting some "touch and feel" books or lift-the-flap books.

Brown Bear Brown Bear, The Hungry Catapillar, To Market To Market, any Baby Einstein, Where the Wild Things Are, There is a Nightmare in My Closet, Anything Wiggles.....

I would take him to Half Price Books and show him different books and see what he is drawn to.

Have fun!

Maisy, Spot, anything with trains (boys....) . Anything with carton pages, and don't forget the "lift flaps". They still love it at age 4.

You can never have enough books!

Karson loves Good Night Moon, It's a ritual to make that the last book he reads right before nap/bed time.

He loves Dr Suess and Winnie the Pooh books, any beginner bible books as well.

I hope this helps.

My girls love the Clifford books-especailly ones with the flaps. Barney books are also good. My girls are 2 1/2 and don't watch Barney anymore, but they enjoy his books. One of my girls loves the "I Spy" books. Picture books with animals are also a favorite. I have one that my mom gave them when they were babies, and it is now in separate pages, but they still love it. Little Critter books are also fun.

I stick to board books...I hate spending lots of money on books only to have them torn and eaten up. Also, both of my girls have loved the lift-the-flap books.

My husband manages the Borders on Lovers Lane and Greenville Ave, just off of 75. Ask for Nathan and he'll load you up with a ton of good stuff! :) They've got a great selection of bargain priced kids books, as well.
