Hi Moms,

my 4 year old daughter is farting like a trucker lately!! It's stinky and loud....all day long. We do eat a ton of fruits and veggies and high fiber foods, but we/she always has. We have made no changes in her diet. Any thoughts? Could she have developed an allergy? We do dairy...not a lot. But some Milk/Cheese. She doesn't eat a ton of meat. Any ideas on what could be causing it or tips that could help alleviate this?

Thanks!

i would give her probiotics, most likely her friendly flora is out of whack due to illness/antibiotic use

I have a son who just turned six and I give him probiotics to help keep his digestive system in check. They are not very expensive and I get them at the local health food store. They are chewable and I give them to him first thing in the morning right along with his multi vitamin. I have an older son who really could use the help from probiotics but will not take them.

Human beings should take a laxative every month, and doctors do not believe in it in the US. You should give a laxative regularly to your entire family, and you will see the difference on your faces. You can put milk of magnesia in strawberry, or chocolate shakes. You have to do it on a day that you can stay home for 24 hours. We eat all kind of junks, but never clean our intestins. You should start right after birth, and get all the garbage out. I have entered some public bathrooms, and almost died. It smells like rats died in there, and it is not suppose to smell like rotten meat. We take laxatives in my family, and I get a colon irrigation every season. You also should not feed her beans, cabbage, brussel sprouts, or cauliflowers. The doctors do not know everything, and are mere humans.

At my house that generally meant food intolerance.

I found it helpful to keep a food diary for a couple of weeks to spot trends.

When my older child stopped eating wheat the problem eased up alot. I have also had good luck with digestive enzymes.

Best of luck.
