I have been doing tons of research on double strollers and am completely overwhelmed at this point! So far, I've narrowed it down to the Baby Jogger city mini double and the Joovy ERGO caboose. My daughter will be 19 months old when the new baby arrives. Everyone I've spoken to about this recommends the city mini; however, my concern is that it seems as if my daughter is already tiring of riding in a traditional stroller. (We have a Graco metrolite and she will often cry to get out, even during a short walk.) From what I've seen online, the reviews are mixed on the Joovy. Any opinions on these 2 brands/models would be very much appreciated. Are there other brands or models that you love? Thank You!!

What can I do next?

Yeah - I was going to say - I'm in the same boat and having talked to a lot of second time moms with 2 under 2, they all said they carried baby for the first 3-6 months. It just made life easier!

That said - I know its not always so fun to carry baby (especially if they end up being huge and you are tiny) so in terms of strollers: We've pretty much decided on a Phil & Ted's. Its the smallest and most compact. The only complaint I have about it is that the storage on the bottom sucks. Hard to access. But its easy if the bigger baby wants to get out & play. You can also get a car seat adapter for then they are very little.

I looked at the Joovy Ergo too. I thought I'd get it but the reviews are terrible. Also I can't find a local store who sells it so I can try it out... Both negatives in my book!

Good luck!

I have a Phil and Ted Vibe model stroller that goes from single to double. Love the idea, but don't like the execution. I would pass on it if I were you. But City makes a similar design. I think they call the 'inlines'. Good luck!

I love the Phil & Teds - it's my main go to stroller. I can have a double if I have two interested in riding, or I can just take it as a single if I only have one kid with me or the others want to walk. It's very maneuverable and has such a small footprint. For outdoor walks and amusement parks I do have a city mini double, which is also a very nice stroller with huge canopies, easy fold, lightweight, etc. I'd probably opt for the BJ over the Joovy with the age of your oldest.

I love, love, LOVE my Phil and Teds sport double stroller. I love that the stroller takes up the same room as a single jogging stroller. It is so easy to take to Dr. appts and to stores. I can't imagine pushing a side-by-side stroller through a clothing store! Take a look and see what you think. It is worth every penny!!

I would go with the City Mini double. I bought THREE double strollers, until I realized this was the best one. My kids are also 18 months apart.
I first bought a Graco back to back stroller..it was AWFUL, didn't steer well and was sooo heavy like pushing a bus. Second, I went for the Combi side to side stroller. It was great for quick market trips, but not sturdy enough. Then I got the City Mini, it VERY easy to fold up (just pull a handle) and it is great for walking on the streets, mall, etc.
My older son also hates sitting in the stroller, but when you have errands to do, just strap them in and they will stay!

We have the city mini and I love it, but it was not ideal for a young infant. If you get the car seat adapter so that you can keep in baby in the car seat, the car seat sticks out very far. You'd really have to take the infant in and out of the car seat to use the stroller, which for me was not ideal because we had a winter baby. Also, the under stroller storage is hard to get at and doesn't hold a lot.

I would invest in a good carrier and wear the baby and let your daughter ride in the stroller then when she is done riding she can hop out and baby can go in the stroller or you can continue to wear her.

Edited: If you get a good carrier like an ergo a large baby won't matter. I still carry my 30 lb three year old in it on my back comfortably.
