Double Stroller? - Clovis,CA

I'm about 6 months preggo with baby #2 and my dtr will be 26 mo when #2 is born. I know what double stroller I need to buy if I get one, but it's a little on the pricey side. So I'm wondering if I should just use my Bjorn for the baby and current single stroller for the toddler? This could be for like six months or so before baby is too big for me to carry comfortably for any distance. Then I would just get a cheaper double for the 2 of them. But my other issue is that I used to love leaving the baby in the carrier when she was sleeping during errands and if I have to wake her to put her in the Bjorn, then I won't get to go out much while she's needing so much sleep. Just wondering if it's worth it.

What can I do next?

I vote to get a stroller. My girls are 17 months apart. We got a Phil &Ted. It is a pricey stroller, but love it! Still use it at the zoo and other places.

Hi R.,

I have the Combi (side by side) it was over $200 but Babies R Us has the 15% off coupons. I didn't have a baby shower for my 2nd child, I just saved my gift cards people gave me and bought the stroller when she was 2mo.

I did use my Bjorn for the first 2mo. and it was to much for me so I broke down and got the stroller. I love love my double stroller!! my son went on one side and I just left my baby daughter in her car seat and put it on the other side. It's lite-weight and I'm so glad I bought it!

A few of my friends have bought baby items (even strollers) on E-Bay and have been happy with their items

good luck :)

Hello,

I have a double stroller I am no longer using Graco great condition. It is collecting dust in my garage, I also have one infant seat with base to match. (I had twins). We live far, but if you are in the area visiting anyone you can have it. You can e-mail me. I live in Morgan Hill.

Good Luck and Congrats on Baby #2

Check to see if you have any local twins clubs. Spring time is huge for resales, and many moms are selling their double strollers. See what you can find, and you should get a good deal on one.

I def think its worth it to get a stroller. The Bjorn or carrier is great as an alternative, but you don't want to have to use it 100% of the time while out, and having #2 in the stroller as well will be a nice break for your body. Especially if you need to be more active with #2 (ie playing at the playground etc while baby 2 sleeps). Also, what if someone else has to watch the 2, the Bjorn could be more limiting vs putting both kiddos in the stroller. Like you said, having to interrupt her sleep each time when you needed to do something is so cumbersome and unnecessary. If cost is an issue, obviously there are 'cheaper' double strollers out there... But for what its worth, I think its worth it to get a double stroller. At least that's my plan too! (I'm due with #2 in July!)

I would check on craigslist and try to find a used one. That way if it doesn't work out long term you can sell it on craigslist and buy another one. I have done this for many things and have always had good luck. It is a great way to recycle and save money.

I had the same debate, and my kiddo was a little younger when #2 was born (21 months) I did just stick with the regular stroller and use the moby wrap. I wore my baby for 6-7 months comfortably and it was great, she loved it and it gave me the mobility to chase after the other one without ditching a baby in a stroller. When my daughter was about 7-9 months old it was no longer comfortable to wear her as often and we transitioned to the older walking and the baby riding, its been very good for us... one hint if you know you will be wearing #2 a lot is to invest or ask for a few choices... or borrow... my favorites were the maya wrap and the moby
