I need a good place to board/groom my dog when I'm in San Antonio. Does anyone have any suggestions?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks to everyone who has answered. It's nice to have the websites to check out. I'll be close to 1604 and I10 while I'm there, so that's the area I'll be looking in. Traveling with a pooch isn't all that hard, but finding a place to leave him while I tend to business is. Maybe there will be a doggie day care close. :o)

I really like Camp Bow-wow on Jones-Maltsberger accross from the Blossom Athletic Center. The dogs can play all day with other dogs and then they have a little nap time. I really like the fact that they have web-cams set up all over the facility so you can watch from work or vacation just by going to the website. They are reasonably priced in comparison to Rob Carey, the place I used to take my dog. Also, the staff keeps the place really clean and they love the "campers". I've never had a problem with them. Hope this helps.

Check our Rob Cary. His place boards, trains, grooms, etc. That's where we keep our dogs if we're gone and we can't find a dogsitter. Their number is (800) 899-3026 and they are pretty close to the airport on Bulverde Rd., if you're familiar with San Antonio.

We have a Rob Carey in town. He is quite good I understand. Alot of people leave ther animals there when they are on vacation. There is also a vet oat 6614 Southport, off loop410 and babcock. I have never boarded an animal, but have used them for years a vets. They do board I think. The number is ###-###-####. If they don't board they can give you the name of a good boarding place. J.

I would try K9 Country Club on Blanco Rd. We used to own Rover's Ranch Pet Resort but closed. Now we have to look for a place to take our pets. This is where we will be going.

Try wwwCampbowwow.com My friend has a Jack Russell terrier that is spoiled and extremely active. She is very particular about Toby's care. We met the people of Camp Bow Wow and were impressed. Although, she hasn't needed to use them yet; she plans on it this summer when she travels. They run a few dollars more; but they seem to offer more too. Including web cams where you can check on your pet. I would check it out and find references from people that were pleased with the facility.

Kayz Kutz is a grooming and boarding place in town. I can't find the number right off hand but they are in the book. Hope you enjoy your trip!

The Petsmart PetHotel is a wonderful place to board dogs. It's located on hwy 281. I've used them a few times when my husband and I went out of town, and they are terrific! I felt comfortable leaving my 2 yorkies there, and when I returned, they(my dogs) didn't seem to have a lot of anxiety, as when i left them other places. Not too sure about the grooming, but if they do as well as they do in the Hotel area, I'm sure it'll be great also!

I use Rob Carey to board my parrots and have been extremely happy. They don't specialize in birds but mainly dogs. So feel you will be happy using them. I used them several times when going out of town and highly recommend them. They take time with each animal. Measure food and water as they fill the animals dish and then when emptying it to be sure animal is eating, etc. The bird cages are kept very clean and my birds seem to be happy to be there and believe me parrots will let you know if it's not working.
