When I move here, my husband bought me 2 things as first present, a better quality translator and a video of Schoolhouse Rock.
They both help me learn English but Schoolhouse rock teach me so much about this country, the language and so many other stuff.
I still love the video, each of my kids had it, and my now 3 year old sign so many songs from them.
How come this show/commercial is not on TV anymore, it was amazing!
How come you can't even found the DVD easy on stores where they sell kids DVD?
My daughters one is on its last, we have play it over and over is all scratch, we will be buying one online, but I really wish they put this on tv.
One of my favorites songs is "The Bill", Tea Party, Mother necessity, and Interception because it also has a very catchy tune and I love how my daughter says "That is not fair giving a shot right there!" and Darn that is the end!" lol so cute!!
What about you?

I bought the DVD at Target last year. We had the tape, and it wore out. We love Schoolhouse Rock! My boys watch it pretty frequently; they're 7 and 14, and I show parts of it at school sometimes just as a refresher when we're going over grammar. I teach 11th and 12th grade English. It's really wonderful!

I learned the preamble to the Constitution in 4th grade from Schoolhouse Rock. I can still sing it. I have the dvd's too. I think you can still find them on Amazon, but people probably think this show from the 70's with its old fashioned animation is ... well... old fashioned. It was the best though.

Oh...Schoolhouse Rock...
ROCK ON!!!!!!!!!

Not to give away my age, but I watched Schoolhouse Rock on Saturday mornings as a kid. Loved it!!

I have bought all the DVD's I can get my hands on, not only for my own kids, but for friends' kids as birthday presents, etc.

Schoolhouse Rock is one of those timeless things that I doubt they'll bring back, and even if they did, I don't know if it would be as good. Even Sesame Street is so techno now. I'm glad I grew up when I did and can share it with my kids.

Get your kids "Multiplication Rock". They will learn math by singing the catchy tunes.
I love them all, but a couple of my favorites:

Schoolhouse Rock........awesome.

Best wishes!

I too grew up watching them on Saturday mornings. They came on between the cartoons. This was back when the only time cartoons were on was early Saturday mornings and the TV stations went off the air at midnight.

I have seen the DVD's for sale it was either Target or Toys r us. You can probably find them on-line too.

Those are my most favorite shows ever! We have the DVD that has every episode on it. I don't know if you can get it on video anymore unless you buy it used somewhere.
I love "Figure 8" and "Conjunction Junction"

We got our copy at Target. My daughter loves "bill" and it makes me happy that it's taught my 5 year old how a bill becomes a law in a fun way. :-)

There's a kids play based on these commercials. In the past our school has done it every other year with the 4th and 5th graders. I think they will do it next year. I can't wait!

Always loved it as a kid when it came on. So much so, that I hunted it down for my own kids (online) on DVD when they started grade school. My son likes it ok, but my daughter loves it. She is 10 now, and just had it on a few nights ago watching Bill. (That one was my favorite--I'm just a Bill). I also like the multiplication one and the one about money....can't remember the name of it right now...

Oooh... and "Verb. That's what's happening..."

I watched them as a kid.. loved them. In high school we had to memorize the preamble to the constitution.. which was super easy .. cause I could sing the song from school house rock.

I have the DVD. I have seen it in stores. Also high school frequently put on the play school house rock. It is great. I just took my kids to see the play at thelocal high school.
Great learning tool.

Yep. A favorite here....but my girls haven't seen them yet! Lol. I have the history vhs tape. I use to show it to my elementary classes.

I've also seen the kid play, and took a second grade class to see it. Super fun!

Thanks for the memory. My tape has been in storage for way too long. Going to fish that out and find some more of them for my girls (ages 4 &2). They are great teaching tools!
