Discreet Nursing Pads?

I would caution about continuous wear of the lilypadz/ I think that they are good for those times when you are out and have to "look" good but as a Lactation Consultant I have concern about holding milk in that needs to move out.

I liked the Avent brand. They were durable, but can't say weren't noticable. I hated the Walmart brand --- can't remember the name. I would have to change them a few times a day. They were also large. The Avent brand is a little smaller in diameter.

Lansinoh. My baby is 10 months and I am still leaking! I've tried most of them and the Lansinoh are by far the most absorbant, the most comfortable and stay the best in nursing nighties.

Funny you should ask this, I was just making a list of things for my sister-in-law who is expecting in July. I have 2 boys and both times I used Johnson & Johnson nursing pads. They're a little thicker than others I tried, so they give you a little shape, since a nursing bra doesn't help with that. I know they have them at Wal-mart and I'm almost certain they have them at Walgreen's too. Good luck, the baby won't be fussy forever, enjoy this time, it only gets more challenging as they learn to walk and talk!

I've tried them all and i like Lansinoh ones the best. They are thin, yet absorbant and the outside is pink instead of white which makes them a bit more discreet. Good Luck!

I agree with the previous recommendation of the Lansinoh pads. I tried several different kinds as I started leaking colostrum at 22 weeks, and found those to be the least noticeable and most absorbent.

I personally love Lily Padz..you can find them on-line. They are clear silicone so you can wear them without a bra even.

They work for stopping leaking from happening, unless you produce a lot of milk, then I hear they may leak. They also stop any nipple showing.

They are washable and reusuable for a couple of weeks if you use them daily applying and reapplying them for nursing, or longer if you only nurse at night like I do now.

I only used the disposable ones because I found the cloth ones bulky and not discreet. I have a whole box of the disposable ones that I finally chose after trying a couple of different kinds. I won't be using them anymore so you are welcome to have them. I live in Skokie. Email me if you are interested.

I have always used Avent. They are thicker and smaller than the other breast pads out there. I never noticed them through my shirts and I almost always have a white t-shirt on.

Have you tried the ones at the Mimi maternity store at Water Tower? I think it's these:

But I know the store carries two kinds, one is much softer than the other. They're expensive, but you can just wash them and they breathe much more than the disposable ones.

The best ones are lillypadz. They are clear and prevent leaking. These are great especially if you go back to work or wear something that you worry about leaking.

Much to my suprise I bought a padded nursing bra and it works wonderfully for not only hiding the pad but it absorbs spills/leaks so as not to get on your clothing. Hope this helps!

I used the Medela disposable. They are very thin and super absorbant. At night I would double up. I have tried several different brands, but I think these are the best.

The best that I found are the Lansinoh ones, they have the best ointment too for cracked or dry nipples. They cost a bit more than the other ones but definately worth it by far. HTH.

Hi J. - I tried them all and liked the Lansinoh Disposable Nursing Pads the best. They're large enough that they aren't noticable under a shirt and they are super absorbent. I could sleep in them without any accidents.
