We are moving and considering canceling our direct tv and going with Hulu live. Does anyone have any experience with Hulu live?

What can I do next?

We live out in the country and cannot get cable internet. We have satellite internet, so it's very slow and not worth streaming anything. If we want to stream, we use the hotspot on our cell phones - until we runout.

If you cannot get cable internet, you're probably going to need to stick with Direct TV or Dish Network. Streaming services and even On Demand services are very limited unless you have good internet.

No, I have the Fire Stick from Amazon, and it is great. I would stick with that and maybe Netflix if you're into following series. I hear some of their series, like House of Cards and Ozark, are great. I don't have the time or patience to follow a series and keep up with the minutiae but if you are into them and have the time and can follow through watching episodes pretty much daily, look into the series that Amazon Prime offers and Netflix offers, and see if any of them appeal to you. I had a friend who used Hulu and he preferred Amazon Prime Video. Not sure if that would be the case for you, nor do I know if regular Hulu and Hulu Live is the same thing.

We use Netflix and Sling. Hulu didn’t have much programming we enjoyed. Sling is a lot like DirecTV as far as programming.

We just got rid of DirecTV after about 15 years of service because they couldn't get their billing straight after we cancelled the football package. We decided to go with Hulu and Sling because both together are cheaper than the DirecTV. However, we might try to get an antennae and drop the Hulu if we can pick up the local channels that we currently get with Hulu.

We cancelled our DirecTV two years ago and have Hulu, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. Ditching DirecTV was one of the best decisions we've ever made! While I can't speak to Hulu Live, we LOVE not dealing with DirecTV anymore and don't miss it a bit. Plus, we only spend $20/mo (I don't count Amazon Prime since I would have that even without the video part) vs. over $100/mo.

If Hulu Live has no contracts, I say go for it. If you don't like it, DirecTV will beg you weekly to come back anyways, at cheaper and cheaper prices. They still call me like once a week and it has been two years since we cancelled and offered us as low as $39/mo with a 2 year contract for tons of channels if we would come back to them.
